Glover Leads Beothics Attack

The Northeast Sabres and the Straight Shore Beothics won a pair of weekend games in the Central Newfoundland Hockey League (CNHL).

The Sabres won the first of their games dumping the Lewisporte Seahawks by a score of 11-2. They won their second game by the same impressive margin when they won 10-3 against the Seahawks in game 2 of their matchup.

The Stright Shore Beothics picked up their first win with a 7-2 victory over The Twillingate Combines. Game two was a little close when the Beothics bested the Combines by a score of 7-4.

Rookie Bruce Glover for the Beothics had six goals. In the first game against the Combines, Glover racked up 5 goals and scored again in the second game.

The victory for the Beothics ended the Combines three-game winning streak and moves the Beothics into forth place in the standings.

The Sabres maintained their top spot in the league, finishing the weekend action 10 points ahead of the second place Combines.

Leage action resumes on January 11th at 7;30.
