The Western Royals completed their weekend sweep of the Grand Falls-Windsor Cataracts , winning on Sunday in the Newfoundland and Labrador Senior Hockey League.  The Royals scored three times on the Power Play to win 3-0.

While the Cataracts hang on to first place in the league, there is now only 1 point separating the Cataracts and Caribous.

The Caribous finished their sweep of the Mount Pearl Blades this weekend, winning by a score of 5-1 over the Blades.

In other action, the Eastlink CeeBee Stars thumped the Gander Flyers by a score of 10-3.  After making moves to secure some top name talent, the CeeBees found themselves in a position to make a great run for the playoffs.  Their performance this weekend shows again they are major contenders despite sitting in fifth place in the standings.

Current Standings in the Newofundland Senior Hockey League are as follows:

Cataracts – 24 pts
Caribous – 23 pts
Royals – 20 pts
Blades – 16 pts
CeeBees – 13 pts
Flyers – 11 pts
