Western Warriors Win Bronze

The Western Warriors won a bronze medal in Port Aux Basques in a tournament held the weekend of January 10-12. The team battled back as they faced teh Tri Pen Ice.

Tri Pen jumped out to an early lead scoring late in teh first period, giving them a 1-0 lead over the Warriors. Brooklyn Childs scored for the Western team knotting the score at 1-1.

Halfway through the second period, Bethany Brophy and Jennifer Guy setup Sandi Whalen who gave the Warriors a 2-1 lead which held up through the period. Rachel Walter from the Warriors scored the Western’s third goal after being setup by Megan Savoury and Megan Clarke, giving the Warriors a 3-1 lead. Megan Clarke scored with just two minutes left in the game, giving the Warriors the bronze medal.
