The Grand Falls-Windsor Cataracts showed why they currently hold first place in the Newfoundland and Labrador Senior Hockey League (NLSHL) with a dominating performance over the Eastlink CeeBee Stars.

The CeeBees struck first at the 4:30 mark of the first period when Matt Bragg scored a goal, assisted by Colin Feehan and Matthew Quinn.   The Cataracts Luke Gallant struck then on the power play at 11:27 on a goal assisted by Cam Fergus and Rob Hennigar.  Michael Brent scored with just 3 seconds remaining in the first period giving the Cataracts a 2-1 lead at the end of the first period of play.

The Cats continued their roll when Rob Hennigar popped a goal midway through the second period.  Cam Fergus and Michael Brent picked up assists.  Doug O’Brien scored for the CeeBees on the power play on a nifty goal assisted by Jordon Escott.  Andre Gill and Rob Hennigar would score again for the Cataracts, making the score 5-2 after two periods of play.

The Third period was dominated by the Cataracts and it was obvious that the Eastlink CeeBee Stars were a defeated team, providing very little support for their goaltender.  The Cataracts scored four unanswered goals in the third, as Cam Fergus, Greg Hoffe, Luke Gallant and Andrew Pearcey all popped goals past the CeeBees goalie Kennedy.

The final score was 9-2 as the powerhouse Cataracts skated to a decisive victory.

The Cataracts Cam Fergus tallied 6 points in the game, with a goal and 5 assists.  Luke Gallant had a great game with 2 goals and 2 assists and teammate Rob Hennigar scored 2 goals and added an assist for a 3-point night.
