Big Weekend for the Kings

The Dennis GM Western Kings had a big weekend, collecting six points out of a possible eight this weekend while playing on the road in Whitbourne.

The Western Kings defeated the St. John’s Privateers 7-1 for 2 of their points. Jamie Penney, Brady Griffin-Hefford, Michael Lundrigan, Robert Hicks and Ryan Gilliam all scored in the Kings win over the St. John’s squad. They each had an assist as well. Brandon Sexton and Jonathan Guy also scored for the Kings.

St. John’s got their loan goal from Joel Bishop.

The Kings also lost in a shoot out to the Tri-Pen Osprey by a score of 3-2.

Jalen Gillard and Jamie Penney notched goals for the Kings as they picked up a single point for the shoot out loss.

The second shoot out loss for the kings came at the hands of the St. John’s Maple Leafs. The Leafs took the victory by a score of 7-6. Ryan Gillam, Brady Griffin-Hefford added a pair of goals each for the Kings. Brandon Sexton and Jalen Gillard added singles for the Kings.

In the final game of the four-game road trip, the Kings defeated the Central Ice Pak by a score of 3-2. Ryan Gillam had a goal and an assist in the win, while teammates Mateo Short and Brady Griffin-Hefford scored the other goals for the Western squad.
