Will the Sharks Win?
Posted by: | CommentsWith Ryan Clowe in the midst of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, one must wonder if the Sharks will win tonight and force a Game 7. After being down 3-1 in the series, the Sharks won a squeaker in overtime.
Tonight Ryan Clowe and the Sharks lace them up and hit the ice at 12:00 midnght Newfoundland time.
Let’s cheer on Ryan and hope that a fellow Newfoundlander makes it through round one of the playoffs.
Newfoundlander Ryan Clowe – San Jose Sharks

With the Ducks leading the series 2-1, San Jose must come out firing to even the series. Ryan Clowe is logging a lot of ice time, including time on the power play as the Sharks press the Ducks.

Newfoundlander Michael Ryder and Bruins Sweep
Posted by: | CommentsThe Boston Bruins led by a strong 3-point performance by Newfoundlander Michael Ryder have gone on to sweep the Montreal Canadiens. With 2 goals and an assist, Ryder was a thorn for his ex-team. His strong performance in game 4 completed the sweep and propells the Bruins now into the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Michael Ryder Burns His Old Team
Posted by: | CommentsNewfoundlander Michael Ryder scores the game winning goal with just 2:39 left in the second period. The Bonivista native and ex-Canadien continues to haunt is old team as he picks up his 4th point of the early 2008-09 Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Ryder and his Boston Bruins now lead the series 3-0 against the Canadiens and have a chance to sweep the Habs on Wednesday night. Going into the series, Newfoundland Hockey Talk was keeping an eye on Ryder, hoping that the series lived up to expectation.
Boston vs Montreal – Old Rivarly in Round One
Posted by: | CommentsThe Boston Bruins take first blood in their round one matchup against the Montreal Canadiens. One of the oldest and most anticipated rivalries in the NHL, this series will be one of the most watched of the round one matchups as Michael Ryder returns to face off against his old team.
Game one goes to the Bruins by a score of 4-2, in a game that was entertaining and for the most part looked like it was headed into overtime until Zdeno Chara scored at 8:35 of the third period to give the Bruins a 3-2 lead. The Bruins scored an empty net goal to seal the victory.
