Re: Next season
You're 100% correct aseyeseesit. The Royals have categorically stated that they want nothing to do with a provincial league again... they'd sooner fold first. The only ones that might be stupid enough to venture down this path... AGAIN.. is the Red Wings. But the town of DL has tight reins on the op...

Re: No Herder?? Or Is There?
That has to be one of the stupidest things I’ve ever seen HNL come up with! A team that isn’t in a league, has played no regular season or playoff games, and gets to compete for the Herder? Yes by! The East and West have been in talks for weeks on a championship final between them. From what I was t...

Re: The Telegam -Brendan McCarthy-Herder
If HNL is so concerned about the Herder being played, they could simply register the teams of the WCSHL as Senior A, and have them play off against the ECSHL for the Herder. No constitutional change needed. But, understandably, I think this pressure (CBC/Telegram/etc.) in using the Herder as a barga...

Re: Where is the New League ?
It would seem that the Royals taking the available pot of money and then splitting it up at the end of the season is a very natural thing to do... but a few bucks for services after a successful season is also no problem. The next move for the west would be something along the lines of revenue shar...

Re: Where is the New League ?
If anyone thinks for one minute that players weren’t being paid in the West league then they’re out to lunch. No way players like Bishop and Simms walked away from the Central league for nothing. You are spot on. Word throughout the league had the Red Wings ponying up $10K for the season and after ...

Re: Stephen Simms
I suspect money is starting to flow in the west amateur league. and this is just my opinion I don't think anyone is naive enough to believe these guys jumped from the Cats to the WCSHL leaving $600-$800 a weekend on the table. Lets get real here. I don't see the WCSHL even lasting through this seas...

The league needs to bring in an outside President that can be a neutral/rational leader!Hockey Eyes wrote: ↑Sun Oct 01, 2017 4:29 pm... having a strong hand at the tiller that is trying to keep the teams even in terms of strength is a good idea.
His fingerprints are all over the league and ... how did it work out last year ?

Re: 2017-2018 West Coast Season
From what I've heard, which isn't much, it's the same 4 teams and the league starts mid November. Apparently they're going with a 18 game schedule, plus playoffs. That's a lot of hockey! I think they're keeping the Friday-Saturday type schedule with each team getting one home game each weekend. That...

From what I can tell they haven't played and won't be playing. Not sure what all the fuss is about for 2 non-players.Oh just a fan wrote: that Cantwell and Drover drive over from centrel
