Re: NTV On the Mark: Herder

Rodi Short...another great local NL hockey player recruited by a great organization several years ago who has enjoyed great success with the Cats. I hope he’s right with his prediction.

NL hockey history

There’s a book by Jerry “Stats” Elliott about Newfoundland & Labrador Senior hockey. Everyone who’s into senior hockey in NL should read it. You would be surprised to know that paid players came into play in 1949. After St. Bon’s dominated play from 1935 to 1948, Buchans began bringing in players (1...

Re: It's hockey talk folkes!!!!

All of this talk about buying the Herder is getting old and ridiculous. Both of these teams, as well as the other five teams, are made up of local Newfoundland and Labrador hockey players. If the Cats had three or more imports from outside the province of very high skill sets as in past teams, I cou...

Re: Cats @ SS Breakers Herder Final Game 1

Not sure if you noticed on here, but HockeyFan29 seems to have disappeared. I think he/she/it has resurfaced as BreakerFan2019...same cutting, childish comments. Go Cats Go!! First time ever posting that. Hahaha!!

Re: Breakers Pickups

I must add that I am NOT a Cats fan... never was, and never will be. I just like to see things done properly.

Re: Breakers Pickups

As mentioned in an earlier post, with no imports on the Cats, why are the Breakers picking up players? I’m willing to bet it would be a great Herder with both teams the way they are. Cats already have one top player gone with injury, so, with 3 Breaker pickups, the Herder won’t be as close.

Re: ECSHL Finals: Caribou’s vs Blues

I guess that ridiculous prediction was a little off. Too funny. I’m so happy the Shore won.

Re: Two new leagues (maybe)??

Anyway...forget everything said in this post. Didn't work out so not happening. But, there will be hockey in Central and in the AESHL. That's the main thing. To quote a popular guy on here.....stay tuned!!!

Re: Two new leagues (maybe)??

No interlocking games. Just play within their own leagues. But, at the end of the season, if a league wants to play for the Herder, only the team/players that won their respective leagues will go into the Herder play down.
NO adding players from other teams!!!

Two new leagues (maybe)??

I hear the AESHL may fold, and start up as some new league so as to get rid of the CeeBees. Imagine...that long run may stop here. I guess the "semi pro" secrets are finally killing it. Then again, it could never be taken seriously after the "goal under the side of the net" fiasco last season. The s...
