Re: Next season
The suggested 6 team provincial set up would be very exciting... But, I fear, that , if there was any willingness to assemble such an arrangement, it would probably be more likely to consist of only 5 teams not 6. I see both the CeeBees and Southern Shore playing, Gander and GFW , but only one team ...

Re: Herder/Sr. Hockey
Thank you for 'seeing' the point of my post -- that cancelling senior hockey was "poetic" justice for the CWSHL , who worked so hard and did evrything possible to make sure the central teams did not get their hoped-for season cancelled.... The point is , it was the SJCaps and their allies ...

Re: Herder/Sr. Hockey
The cancelling of Senior hockey in the province by HNL is a kind of "poetic justice" for the 2 CWSHL teams. Try as we might we in central just couldn't convince interested teams in the east strongly enough - who apparently wanted to help - to find a way around the machinations engaged in b...

Re: No Herder?? Or Is There?
"Insider" - I guess you would have to ask the CeeBees organization why they did not register a team after the 2017 Season , (if they didn't register?), and get all the facts on the 'battle' that ensued with the other east teams involved in the dispute among themselves back then.... What ha...

Re: No Herder?? Or Is There?
"Insider" - just to give you a little history lesson on who is eligible to be awarded the coveted "Herder Trophy" ... In 1957 the Grand Falls Andcos won the Herder without playing in any League. They were awarded the Herder because they were the only Senior A team registered that...

Re: No Herder?? Or Is There?
I have no issue with players being paid... the organizations who understand that, raise the money for that 'higher calibre' hockey player. It takes work and committment. The upside of that committed approach is that in return you get players who are not only better quality, but are completely commit...

Re: No Herder?? Or Is There?
"Insider", any comments I submitted were not stupid, thank you very much. Rather, my comments were to the point: People like you clearly don't consider having fans actually come out and watch games matters. Having a venue for players to go out and play is the end goal. That is the rub of i...

Re: No Herder?? Or Is There?
"Insider" , you state that Clarenville "saw the light" and moved east , because they wanted to sustain themselves... But , the comments of the previous posts that you denigrated were spot on - that (i)the calibre of hockey in the CWSHL over the last 15 years or so has been superi...

Re: Games going ahead this weekend?
If the 'resurrection' actually is pulled off by the Cats and Flyers, the intended date of first play is Sat.evening Feb.15th in GFW and in Gander on Sun.afternoon Feb.16th - next weekend, not this weekend. The latest I have heard is that Friday(Feb.7th) is the target date to lay out the details and ...
