Full marks to the Caps. They played well and wouldn't let the Eagles play THEIR game. Paid attendance probably 1000. Fifty -fifty over eight hundred. If you ask me and you didn;t I would have dressed a different line-up . Halitski was sitting for the Eagles ...Hello ? One nice scrap One nice scrap Chris Thorne and one of the Fewer boys . No knockdowns. Chris Sparkes left the game after getting knocked into the boards... don't know his status. Only a minor called.
Anybody could have won the game. Sean Wadden was in on a breakaway and scores on a play like that nine out of ten times...but not tonight.
I didn't have fries ...the lineup was too long. Saw lots of people I knew including Billy Noseworthy from senior hockey now just a fan. Mark Dwyer of NTV was at the game. Never saw Paddy Dalely. The bar did a great business tonight. What did you think Beef Jerky?

Excellent game of hockey. And that's coming from a CWSHL fan. Caps really controlled the play. I missed the hit on Sparkes. I didn't have fries, but the Governor's table (as superfan would say) was good to me.
I think this will be a long and/or close series if the Caps keep the Eagles from 'playing their game' as you say Mr. Eyes.
Unfortunately I'll miss Monday's game in the Goulds due to work.
CWSHL teams better bring their A game to the Herder.

Transplanted from GFW to St. John's.

I, too, was at the game. Very good crowd as mentioned. The hit was called boarding but it occurred so far off the boards I'm surprised boarding was called. He landed off the boards and then slid awkwardly into the boards. I guess because he was injured and stayed down he drew the call. Wadden was alone several times and missed opening nets was essentially the difference in the game. I am really impressed by Caps dman Pender (#5). Also Eagles had 2 breakaways and missed net by 10 feet each time.
