Here it is what was rumoured. I don’t like it. Top 4 should make it. All making the playoffs was something I hated about the CWSHL and voiced my opinion on it many times. But that’s it I guess...
—————————————————
The ECSHL playoff format for the 2019-20 season has been finalized. Following the completion of the regular season, the top two teams with receive a bye for the first round with 3rd vs 6th and 4th vs 5th. Both series' will be 3 out of 5. Winners will advance to play the 1st and 2nd place teams.

Horrible decision to have all teams making the playoffs. It was a joke when the central league did it and it's a joke now that the east league is doing it.

They had to do it this way when they had to reduce the regular season schedule from 20 games to 15 games because of the debacle back in October/November with with the Flyers and Cats.

Still some interesting races happening, second place is still up for grabs and 4th place still up for grabs.

Right now we’re looking at:

Byes:
Southern Shore
Clarenville

3rd vs 6th:
St. John’s vs CBN

4th vs 5th:
CBS vs Northeast

In round two we’re most likely going to see:
SS vs CBS

Clarenville vs St. John’s

Both round 2 series should be exciting series that should go the distance. Any of those four teams could win the league in my opinion.

Should be a great playoffs!

This has nothing to do with the Flyers and Cats. If there is no Herder playoff between any other league why did they have to shorten the schedule? I thought the delay had to do with the Ceebees issues?

Also whether you play 15 or 20 games it in no way dictates your playoff format.

Nothing to do with the Cats and Flyers? They’re the ones that tried to torpedo both the East and West leagues because no one wanted anything to do with them this season and left them high and dry. How’s that 12 game series going? I’m betting the first weekend was a great success... oh wait.

Also, they made the decision on this playoff format to offset loss gate revenue from the reduction of the regular season format. Everyone gets a home playoff game this way, nothing wrong with it in my opinion.

Why don’t you go over to the CWSHL section and criticize that league... (again, oh wait) instead of coming on here and criticizing our league?

Haha...you're usual argument when you just finished posting on there!! You're something else!! You can't have a little debate without acting like a 2 year old.

I bet I can search your posts and come back with you making fun of all teams making the playoffs in other leagues.

Now I could tell you the real reason your leagues season was shortened but I wouldn't do it here.

You stated it was the only way it could be done with a 15 game season, explain that statement!!

I like the playoff format if that is the way it ends up . Clarenville has been better every time out. At the beginning the year I didn't think they had enough good players. They obviously do.
The playoff format gives every team a playoff payday. I actually like the matchup between the Conception Bay Blues and the Northeast Eagles. Neither is going to win the title.. Herder or otherwise but they are fairly close...one of those whoever wants to win the most . I watched them Friday night and I noticed the Eagles players between shifts were standing rather than sitting. that's a good sign.
Caribous -Caps was too many goals unless the benches were short ... and who played goal for the Caps ??? Downer or Janes .....?
I didn't hear anything about the proposed East -West Championhsip on Friday night .... did anyone else ?
Caribous , Caps , Southern Shore ..pick one ...a hot goalie .. a couple of bounces ...better conditioning ???? Who knows in hockey. Not me for sure...

He’ll reply with go back to the west side or something now. As if I wasn’t on this site since 05 and have been fallowing the east side of the province ever since. Got a lot of friends who’ve played and still do play out there. Always curious to how they’re playing. But for some reason because I’m from Central I can’t post. Because this loser tells me I can’t.
