HNL was useless long before now my friend.Hockey wrote:Actually there is a lot to blame but that's a viable solution to the issue. Nobody should be allowed to dissolve a league and create there own stating certain teams are not welcome. HNL is useless if that let this happen. They are supposedly the governing body and they make decisions on leagues and who plays not the teams themselves.

The difference being Cannonball is that both teams willingly left the AESHL while they were forced out by the other 4 teams in this old NSHL. It's like something that would happen in a third world country. I don't know Clarenville's reasons for agreeing to drop both teams, it surely can't be travel since Hr. Grace and Mount Pearl are closer to them than anyone else(Gander may be close as well). If teams like Corner Brook don't have the money for travel they should either raise more or get out themselves. This is like kids bullying other kids don't you think. I can to a point understand the AESHL decision not to take them considering they left them high and dry a couple years ago for supposedly greener pastures. It all goes back as I said before to the west coast teams bringing in imports. That was the start of it. The only option left is for Clarenville to join the two and have an east coast league with 3 teams like the west and the winner of each playoff for the Herder. Don't you think that makes sense? I can't see HNL doing otherwise. Travel then for all teams would be less which would control expenses better.

Maybe they should stay for the big gates created by their travelling fans...never seen a stars or blades fan at cec all year, heck never seen to many at there own barns. Why would any team want to form a league with two teams that don't know if they make it from one weekend to the next.bousclues wrote:Clarenville's reasoning? Guess they got tired of the blades and Ceebees going to fold every other weekend.

There was a great interview this morning with Randy Pearcey on CBC radio this morning about why the Avalon East doesn't want either the CeeBees or Mount Pearl. There was nothing in it we didn't already know but it sort of drew the broad picture. The CeeBees and the Blades would come into that league with a reputation of paying for service and nobody in the the AESHL including head coaches get paid. There is also the issue of staffing and where CeeBees and Blades could get players. The bottom line according to Randy is the Avalon East is a good league for the players there. He was asked if there was any " payback " in the decision to not take the CeeBees and Blades back and he offered " possibly" as the reply..

You said you dont know Clarenvilles reasons for agreeing to this. No you dont but you are quick to make judgment. I guess the Caribous have now been on both trains, the one heading East, and the one heading West. It appears that they thought that the one heading West was where they prefered to be.Hockey wrote:The difference being Cannonball is that both teams willingly left the AESHL while they were forced out by the other 4 teams in this old NSHL. Things are not always as cut and dry as they appear to be. The fact that the Caribous want to play West should tell you something......

I love the train analogy but for me it's not a question of which train you prefer to ride. I'd like to know why you decided to chuck two passengers off the train, without warning, the middle of nowhere.Caribous insider wrote:I guess the Caribous have now been on both trains, the one heading East, and the one heading West. I don't have all the answers...... But perhaps it was in part because they were always threatening to jump!Gobreakers wrote:I love the train analogy but for me it's not a question of which train you prefer to ride.
