You are right, the most talented your league has ever been. I've even driven hours just to take in a game. Its tremendous.
I'm just looking at 18+2 men who are playing for a provincial championship, as a 100% huge Vegas underdog, they will come to play.
And I've been thinking about your very question as to who the best 6 would be, its hard to say. This means 6 regulars don't play, which has to be such a difficult situation when it comes to a guy who has busted his guts all year...
I'm not sure if you pick the best 6, or the best suited 6. I guess it will depend on what route the winnings team coach feels gives him the best shot

I think you are quite right about picking the best suited six players not necessarily the best. I think Torbay picking up Picco may have been a Herder move. The AESHL has no defence " depth" with any of the teams. The talk is that the defensive game will be the key. The AESHL is a run and gun league with lots of offence but that won't work against the west in the Herder because the west is too skilled.
Goal tending won't be a problem for the east with Yetman ,and Downer .With the EXCEPTION of imports the best forwards in the AESHL are about as good a( well not quite as good )as the local forwards in the west. So many east and west are graduates of the St. John's junior league. The AESHL is a very fast league. I do know that the thinking in the east is that to have any chance they have to play a very tight defensive game. I know Torbay uses a very odd innovative trap . It is driving the St. John's Caps crazy but the Caps are the Caps and aren't the Caribous or the Royals or the Cats. The other thing is that in the AESHL checks are finished. That is something to think about.
Can the east win a game ??? Good question and discussion about that puts people in the seats.

Hockey Eyes... as I have said before.. good luck with your venture. The AESHL players will finish very few checks against the CWSHL team that decides to go (If any).
The HNL hidden agenda of destroying SR. hockey for the remainder (outside the overpass) of the province continues.
At the end of the day you will have your AESHL fantasy land bubble burst and Torbay will have 20 cases of whiplash.

I personal think the only AESHL team that would have a chance is Torbay any idea who the 6 added players will be? I would pick a few d-mens Mike Druken,Tyler Gale,Dylan Sheldon,Nathan Morrey then pick a forward or 2 Andrew Gale,Mike Vaters

.... will the CWSHL get roped into paying for this fiasco at Mile One or will HNL/AESHL pay for Mile One an their own travel/hotels/meals ????

HNL would expect whatever team from the CWSHL foolish enough to play against the AESHL for the Herder to pay for half or more of the expenses plus pay for at least half of the $30,000 that would be lost.
if the CWSHL executive has any brains at all they will tell HNL to stuff it.
I believe our guys will do just that because they are smarter than Jackie and his cohorts

Wish I could go back far enough and dig up that post I made. I knew and I was told by some great hockey people that when they heard jake Lee was running for president of hnl it would be the worse thing that could happen .
