If by asking whether there is going to be be hockey in "central" , you mean hockey in GFW and Gander,(and in Clareninville) the answer is 'no' unless GFW and Gander(and Clarenville) find either a fourth team, or there is some "deal" for interlocking with the four teams left in what used to be AESHL - now that the CeeBees are out of the AESHL...
At the moment the best hope for hockey in "central" means there has to be some 'deal' for some interlocking games with the four Avalon teams in Torbay,Southern Shore, Bell Island(Paradise?) and the Caps. Word is that the CeeBees have stated that they have zero interest in playing in the CWSHL.

And, HNL - who regulates all senior hockey in NL - needs to step up and play some useful role in aiding a solution for all of us interested communities in "central". We have made it clear we still want hockey out here , but need some help in getting a willing fourth team; or willing "partners" from the remaining fours teams in the AESHL to make it happen.

Lots of talk around gfw this week that the cats are back this season, not sure of the details. Overheard someone at a garage today saying there will be some type of announcement on everything soon. I know I will be there to renew my holding seats if there is indeed hockey as I know how fortunate we are to be able to get out and watch senior hockey right here in our hometowns. You don't know what you got until it's gone.

No way AESHL plays interlocking games with CWSHL. Who would want to see Grand Falls pound the p!ss out of Bell Island 22-0?

So the 4 Metro teams stated that the reason they wanted to separate from the Cee Bees was because the Cee Bees where better suited for the CWSHL and that they could not compete with them and the cost of travel to Hr Grace.
Yet some are holding on to the idea that those same 4 teams would play interlocking games with the CWSHL and travel even greater distances...seriously ???

Compass story is online, pretty much confirming everything said here so far, with quotes from Mark Reynolds.

Remember I always said the AESHL had smart people in charge and that was key to success...toss that out the window and bring in the clowns.

the smart people in charge where asked to resign by 4 team reps...
looks like the clowns are the 4 reps who decided to pick up their puck and leave .
