I think your obvious bias against the Ceebees is affecting you're reading ability. He was referring to Breaker fan attendance when the Ceebees were part of the league. I realize you probably don't know a lot about that since you've stated that the road is too bad for you to drive there but I can tell you that the Ceebees being ejected certainly didn't help fan attendance.Hockey Eyes wrote: ↑Wed Apr 25, 2018 8:07 pmJust Watch your comments seem to be born of "hope" more than anything. In the dream of a new five team league .. who are Paradise? what hockey system are they? Is there a junior team .....any background. Who are Paradise ? I live in Paradise and I've never heard of them . As for the Breakers " filling their barn". You must be dreaming ...they drew okay in their series against ...St. John's . As for Mount Pearl they say their business plan doesn't count on a fan base.
Finally ...the CeeBees being kicked out for their fan base and financial state ...the CeeBees were kicked out for paying their players. Its that simple ...AND all teams in the AESHL voted for that. All of them including the Breakers. .
Also any new 5 team league like that would mean the end of the old east coast senior league now called ECSHL. . That would need the approval of HNL . Good luck with that.

I agree with you ...certainly most of it. The CeeBees and The Breakers were a great rivalry years ago ... for sure ... I have no bias at all against the CeeBees. I never missed a CeeBees -Eagkes game. There are a lot players who didn't mind the CeeBees were getting money . That isn;t the issue though. They were fired out of the league because they broke the rules and ALL four teams voted to have them gone. That is just history. They were thrown out. The Breakers , the Eagles , the Blues and the Caps ...voted that way .
As for the road down the southern shore..it is horrible..It is narrow and dangerous ....i know it by heart . I know about the area than you can image. . I lived in three different places in Bay Bulls ... two in Witless Bay ... I never lived furthur up the shore ...but the road ??? that one I know.

Actually the CeeBees and Breakers still had a pretty good rivalry going right up to when they were kicked out. You keep referring to the Ceebees "breaking the rules". I suspect they did, just as I'm pretty certain that at least three other teams did as well. Do I have proof? Let's just say that I have just as much proof as you do about the Ceebees.
As for all four teams voting them out, that's not exactly true now is it? The four "teams" had no input whatsoever and I can assure you that if they did, the Ceebees would still be in the league. No sir, that move was orchestrated by two individuals only. You may not admit that but I think you also know it to be true. Anyways, what's done is done. Unfortunately senior hockey on the east coast was damaged pretty bad this year by a couple individuals with inflated egos. As a result, it will probably be a long time to reach a full recovery, simply because certain people thought the easiest way to achieve hockey success was to use off-ice moves to get rid of the biggest completion as opposed to putting the time necessary into building a serious contender.

Gobreakers' version is more in line with what I've been hearing from other fans and some east players. Nothing personal Hockeyeyes but your post sounds a lot like the party line that was being spewed by the aeshl spokesman at the time the Ceebees were kicked out.

If people on this site and throughout NL still thinks that for one second the Cee Bees were and are the only teams paying players then you guys are all out to lunch.
Just as I’ve said on this site before about hearing words come from Wiffens mouth about being paid, I’ve also heard him say that the Caps called him at the beginning of this season wondering what it would take to get him there. Now they didn’t offer cash, but they did offer things with monetary value.

The Caps have Kyle Downer and then Bray as goaltenders.. Why would they be shopping for a goaltender. hey could use a big forward or a defenceman who can skate and move the puck.Goaltending they don't need.

Since the regular allegation on here is that many/'some'(?)players are getting paid by most/all(?) teams "in the east", why not let the two central teams in Gander and GFW in an east League - AESHL or ECSHL. Most players on both GFW and Gander live out east, so playing east on the Avalon would save the teams money from the usual set up where EVERY game in The CWSHL is an 'away experience' cost-wise for 75% of the teams' rosters. Then, with a subsidy of some form(?) from the central teams (like occurred this season)- and with some small effort from the east teams to do some work at fundraising ( it in't that difficult) the two central teams would have something to work with in order to play next season.
BYW the CeeBees already have a half million dollars in their "bank" and the Bous already know about the work needed to raise money to keep paying their players - the Delaneys, Derosieres. Pender, Earle, Churchill etc etc. No matter where the Bous go they can't keep the team they have without $ !!

You ask why would they want Wiffen when they have both Downer and Bray? Well Wiffen has been the best goalie on the island for the past 4-6 years. You never pass up an opportunity to add the best player at their position when they become available.Hockey Eyes wrote: ↑Fri Apr 27, 2018 3:26 pmOh just a fan wrote: ↑Fri Apr 27, 2018 2:25 pmIf people on this site and throughout NL still thinks that for one second the Cee Bees were and are the only teams paying players then you guys are all out to lunch.

Who knows maybe the Caps could have traded away Downer for this D and or Forward you’re talking about.
You’re also missing my point, my point wasn’t to point out that Wiffen is better than Downer or anything else other than the Caps and other teams offer pay and incentives.
