As for the cb’s with no game for the year why not ask the teams exc. why this happened . From my understanding it is that they asked for everything plus the kitchen sink

Sounds like the Ceebees went all in, got called and lost...

They Cee Bees were not senior A quality when they last played (Without the 6 strengthening players they added for the herder). Of the core of senior A quality players that played for them two years ago most had retired from competitive hockey. You take the Cee Bees team from two years ago and minus those players and you wouldn't have much of a team.

Senior hockey is dying. The quality players required are not easily available and of the 7 teams in the new league you will see major issues with filling rosters. Players not wanting to travel will be a problem as will the skill differences between teams, The people making the decisions do not have a good handle on the logistics and are just trying to advance their own personal agendas.

Things need to reset and the cycle needs to start fresh after a couple years off. Without the influence of HNL and the Joe Maynard's and Jack Casey's of the hockey world.

There are a lot of vague comments about the roster and quality etc for the CeeBees.
Who exactly are "the majority of the quality players of the CeeBees that were their core that have now retired"... The problem with any dealing with the CeeBees seems to be that that organoxzation may say one thing but do another!... Trust has to be earned and that appears to be a quality lacking in their dealings with others.
The prime example is the declarations that made that got them ousted from the old AESHL, that they did not pay players. Mr.Roberts did not play for nothing, nor did their provincial all star goalie Mr.Whiffen. And, on and on.
If the CeeBees really wanted to play this season why did not they simply work with the 3 CWSHL teams. No, they just walked away! They could not have wanted very badly to at least get started and see how it went... Their way or no way apparently?

They literally have Hundreds of Thousands of Dollars in the bank and you guys are thinking finding players would be a problem? haha OK. I've noticed the Team and some former players are commenting on social media, but I would really like to know what happened here. Like a few folks have said, I think everyone else called their bluff.

Now that the CeeBees are booted out of senior hockey, the missus and I will spend our money on watching the Growlers instead of watching the CeeBees at home and on the road. We will be spending our money now in St. John's instead of gas stations, restaurants and hotels in Clarenville, Gander, and Grand Falls. And there's a good number of other fans from out around the bay who will be doing the same thing.

.....why not give ceebees an opportunity to present a potential roster to hnl if they were to enter the nshl? nothing to lose

No debacle. There’s 7 teams ready to give it a go plus the 4 west coast teams. Gonna be a fun year of senior hockey on the island.

The CeeBees were not "booted" out of the revamped 4 team CWSHL....
In fact agreement was reached at the end of Fall HNL Meetings to approve a 4 'new' team League that included CeeBees. No one booted the CeeBees out of that planned new League - they simply and suddenly declared in writing to the other 3 teams, that they did not want to continue discussions with the other 3 teams about roster adjustments of the 3 existing teams and player availability including how many and which players each existing team would release to them...
And, following meeting and conferencing after the HNL Meetings, there was , in the views of the other 3 teams, failure by the CeeBees to fully list exactly who from their 2017 roster were still available to them - which would directly affect how many and who the other 3 teams would release to them.
Before the final discussions could be concluded, the CeeBees simply walked away: No one 'booted' them out.

OK, CeeBees chose not to play in the central west league. Just because they decided not to join this league (where there would be considerable travel involved), was it assumed by HNL that they did not want to play hockey in any league?

Before the press release last week, were the CeeBees contacted about whether they were interested in joining the new NSHL?

If Canada and the States can work out a new trade agreement surely HNL and CeeBees can work out something to make this an 8 team league. Hard to believe an area with the population of CBN can be denied a game of senior hockey.
