What is the shape of a hockey puck?: triangle

A lot of credit for the Cataracts series win has to go to the team's coaching staff. They went into the series with none of their three goalies available. That's when they came up with the idea of instituting a trap defence to slow down a fast Flyers team and protect their young goalie. They continued this while Stone was in goal allowing him to pick up two wins at home including a shut out. Then when AJ back they abandoned the trap in the early part of the game and attacked with a strong forecheck creating turnovers leading to their first goal. Then once getting the lead they reverted to the trap frustrating the Flyers leading to some undisciplined penalties late leading to their third goal. They also made some personnel changes that proved effective. Mike Brent was moved back on defence to help protect the goaltenders while Stephen Simms did a great job after moving to forward. Scott Cantwell was also moved up forward on the third line and was effective in his role. The team was forced to use three different goaltenders in a six game series and won all three home games. The coaches had a specific game plan in mind and the players executed it. It took a complete team effort to eliminate a team as talented as the Flyers. Thoughts?

Couldn't agree more. The flyers are a younger, faster and possibly and even more skilled team. The Cats beat them using the correct gameplan and experience. The cats new they had to play a physical game , forecheck cause turnovers and get a lead. Then lock it down with an excellent trap game.

Cats also have no players who put themselves before the team. While Brandon Hynes is probably the best sniper in the league I'd take 10 Michael Coles over him. One guy like that on a team can ruin chemistry, I dont know of that's the case, but I do know at almost every game I have watched of the flyers I watched Hynes yell at his teammates for not giving him the puck. This cant help a team.

The Cats definitely won this series playing their own game style. When the flyers played their fast, skilled game, they were unbeatable.
