You are clearly in the know about what the Cats are paying players. Can you please provide some specific examples of these extravagant payouts. Based on what I've heard the last few years player payouts have been reduced drastically. Guess I've been lied to all this time. Also I'd heard that the Cataracts don't take a cent from the canteen but rather 100% of profits go to Minor Hockey, their single biggest source of fundraising. Guess that's a lie too. Thanks for setting the record straight for us.NLEastHockeyFan wrote: ↑Sun Apr 07, 2019 5:58 pmIf that’s the Cat’s organization’s prerogative they should be playing in a semi-pro or pro league, not posing as an amateur team playing for a trophy that is meant to be awarded to amateur teams.

In the last 10 years or so between Herders and Allan Cup appearances, the GFW Cataracts have spent millions of dollars on senior hockey! Let that sink in for a minute, millions! On trying to be the best in senior hockey!

What I’m saying is I don’t think anyone should be getting 10’s of thousands of dollars, all expense paid trips down south, etc to play senior hockey. If guys want to give up their weekends to go to GFW then that’s their choice and they don’t deserve anymore than the guy from CBS who chooses to play in CBS and gets to go home after each game.Oh just a fan wrote: ↑Sun Apr 07, 2019 9:44 pmDo you not think they deserve more because they are traveling across the island 19? Your point is contradicting.

Are there players on the Cataracts getting "10's of thousands of dollars, all expense paid trips down south etc"? Who are they? Name them. Im starting to think you're just making all this up. Surely that's not true is it? You wouldn't do something that potentially slanderous now would you? You don't like someone getting something for giving up their time. So what? It seems you like offering opinions but can't back them up with any kind of substantial evidence or argument. Plus you've clearly lied about other things like canteen funds. If you'd blatantly lie about that then why should anyone believe you're not lying about any of your other outrageous comments? Also, how do you "buy a Herder" in the era of the draft? I asked you before and you avoided the question. BTW.... for everyone else reading this, this guy is a liar. That's not an insult. It's a statement of fact. No 10's of thousands of dollars, no trips down south for any Cats players. Total BS. He represent the worst of everything that's gone wrong with this site over the past few years.

Listen folks ! Enough about money!! The Cataracts took Wick, Cole, and other players from East Coast when no one wanted them. Not sure about Kyle but I think he may be one of the unwanted. Cataracts took a chance on them developing into great hockey players and that is what happened. Cataracts built this team from a few years ago. It wasn't the money that attracted them. They never had a game and Cats took a chance on them and others and they developed during their years with the Cats. If the other organization got off their butts and fundraise the way the Cats do maybe they could afford to give more then they are giving. No one can tell me that no one on the Shore, or any of the teams out East are not being paid something.

Why shouldn't a guy coming to Central make more than a guy in CBS who can go home after the game? Why does it matter how much someone makes? If the money's there and no ones going broke who cares? If the Cats spend "millions" in the last 15 years and brought in multi millions then why would I care? Sounds to me like their spending money to make money. That's business 101.
Side note how many profiles you going to make? That's hockeyfan29 breakers19 and now this one.

Are they really bringing in 10’s of millions of dollars? You make it seem like people are flooding GFW every single weekend to watch the Cataracts play which isn’t the case. Maybe for a weekend or two in the playoffs or the Herder.Oh just a fan wrote: ↑Sun Apr 07, 2019 11:54 pmWhy shouldn't a guy coming to Central make more than a guy in CBS who can go home after the game? We also know senior hockey has fallen on some tough times recently and I highly doubt the Cataracts haven’t been affected by that. Fan attendance is down across the board. The economy in NL isn’t exactly thriving either. I don’t think people are coming from outside GFW every weekend the Cats play and spending money in GFW outside of a weekend or two in the playoffs. Most of the people that are attending these games are people from GFW who aren’t spending any extra money in the town, leaving their homes to head to the game then heading home as soon as the game is over.

That’s the player’s choice to give up their time to travel to central from the Avalon every weekend to play hockey and I really don’t think they should be given anything extra for it.Oh just a fan wrote: ↑Sun Apr 07, 2019 11:54 pmWhy shouldn't a guy coming to Central make more than a guy in CBS who can go home after the game? This is NL Senior Hockey which is meant to amateur hockey. If the Cats and Flyers want to give guys dump truck loads of money then I’d say let them but HNL should let them do it on their own and they shouldn’t be allowed to compete for the Herder. Let the Cats and Flyers play against each other and play for a different trophy in a semi professional league which is essentially how they’re operating today and let the ECSHL and WCSHL play for the Herder. Easy enough.
Out East you guys are terrified that teams out West can pay players , not use imports, and still run a team that will win every year. So you want to shut it down.
If the cataracts can run a team and pay their players, as well as Gander and Clarenville, why shouldn't they ?

Don’t know what the problem is?Saturdays game was close and fast, could of went either way.Sundays game was ok and also could of gone either way if it were not for the goal post.As for paying players all the teams are doing it under the table. As for the Cat’s well they have a great organization who work all year to raise money for the team.Yes the fans attendance has been down but their fans still support their fundraising all year.Without the Cat’s or Flyer’s you guys would not getfans.Don’t think you would get the fans you got this weekend if you played a team from the east. You guys got to pick up 4 of the best extra players out east to play against a team that has players missing. It was good hockey so give it a rest.Experience and good coaching wo in the end.And a few lucky post
