NL hockey history

There’s a book by Jerry “Stats” Elliott about Newfoundland & Labrador Senior hockey. Everyone who’s into senior hockey in NL should read it. You would be surprised to know that paid players came into play in 1949. After St. Bon’s dominated play from 1935 to 1948, Buchans began bringing in players (1949) from the mainland to work, and play hockey. That’s where it all started. So all of this semi-pro and pro garbage has been here pretty much since the Herder started being handed out, but most of the people on this site are either too young, or too un-hockey-educated to know this. Anyway, go get this book and read it. You will be glad you did. Read about the Faulkner’s, Meeker, Dorrington, etc etc....the list is endless.
There should be a second edition to cover more recent play. I’m hoping to see it in the near future.

Just because something has been going on for years doesn’t make it right. Take the big bucks out of senior hockey and give more teams and players a chance to play for it and have a chance at winning it instead of the same 3 teams taking turns of winning it for the last 14 years and counting.

Sooo clueless
No rebuttal only to call someone clueless and bash their opinions. Very mature.

He hates to have his lies pointed out. I've only pointed out the truth. It's been my record here
