2011 Allan Cup win Clarenville
2017 Allan Cup win Grandfalls
Nothing since, Where is a NL rep, lots hype then they did play, if no NL team no local coverage......
Well in 2017 the Cee Bees won the Herder, so you would have to ask them why they did not represent NL in 2018.
Then last year the Caribous won the Herder, but has since moved into the "unpaid" East league.
I would think they are now unable to take on such an endeavour and certainly not be able to put a competitive team on the ice.
The last NL team that won the Allan cup only had 9 imports on their team and I don’ t think that either NL team is allowed any imports on their team now

I think it would be good to have a NL rep at the Allan Cup . Would you agree Tomcod ?

I'd personally like to see a all star team go up. But made up from all the players across the island playing. A true NL team. Can you imagine the team they'd have?

If the cats intend to ice a team in 2020 then they have to improve big time . Last time like I said they had 9 or 10 imports . I don’t think that the team they have now will cut it far too slow and getting long at the tooth . They would be better off if they registered the growlers for the games .If not they would have to pick up a team from outside .Corner Brook won with only two members from there and a few from StJohns ,Stephenville ,the rest from outside NL .The bous had 3 imports and about even players from both the bous team and the CB’s All the player that year was made up from players from the nshl

Could the Cats have sent a team to the Allan Cup this year if they really wanted too?
I think I remember the Bous going in place of the Ceebees one year, I may be mistaken.

Actually HNL asked the senior hockey teams not to compete for the Allan Cup instead they asked the teams to concentrate on the Herder instead.. As a matter of fact the last year that the Bous were eligible to go to the Allan Cup , HNL asked them not to go and they agreeded as long as the Cats wouldn't go , the rest is history .. stay tuned ..
