Anybody have any senior hockey news from the meetings this past weekend? Will Grand Falls and Gander have anyone to play against this season or are they done? Will CBN get a game of hockey this winter or have they been turned down for the third straight year?

Let me tell you how this season will end before it even starts. Grand Falls Windsor buys another Herder. Can't believe people pay money to watch this garbage. Time for HNL to make a level playing field.

What do you mean by "LEVEL PLAYING FIELD" ?

Is that where you add five players to one team to compete in the Herder?
is that where teams commit to play in one teams rink and other decide not to show up?
Is that where one leagues teams fans care about their hockey and the other , well you know?

For a person who doesn't care much about Senior hockey here in Central, you spent an awful lot of time on this site. If you don't care about it, stay away from it. It's not good for your heath.

Five strengthening players to compete against the semi-professional team GFW have been trotting out the last 10 years you mean? If GFW wants to pay players so badly to play hockey why don't they join the ECHL or form a semi-professional league of their own instead of being a semi-pro team moonlighting as a "senior hockey team".

Fans care about their hockey in GFW hey? But couldn't even muster up 1000 fans for game five of the Herder? Jack Byrne was blocked for games 1 & 2 of the Herder. Jack Byrne was even blocked for game seven of the St. John's Junior Hockey League. But Grand Falls Winsdor couldn't even get 1000 people out to watch the clinching game of the Herder.

Stay away from it hey? Typical small town Newfoundland mindset; hearing an opinion they don't like so they have to silence it. Guess what I'm not going to stay away from it!

So does anyone know what's on the go? Usually HNL puts out some kind of release after the meetings but nothing yet. Nothing in The Telegram. What's the talk out in central?

Hope the teams don't plan on playing a couple games and than dropping out of the league.Dont think some of the teams will have much interest from fans this year.

Goliath [HNL] has finally slain David. Senior hockey outside St. Johns is dead, dead, dead. If they are given CPR its just a short fix. Then they will bury it for another 20 years. Fans are tired of the same things year after year and thrown in the towel.
