Really Good pickup imho. Offensive defenceman who isnt afraid to play a hitting game and is very reliable on the back end. he was a star in the st johns jr league even as an under ager from what i was told and has been a top d in the avalon east the top 2 years hands down.

In two years he will be among the top 4 or 5 D in the league including imports. I have never seen a D man at any level that can control the game like this fellow.

He won't be playing with the Royals anytime soon according to Ross which makes this draft a farce. Why have names in there that have no intention of playing this year. Maybe stacking up for the future which IMO should not happen. Laughing stock of the league.

Kind of sucks that he apparently wont be playing, because this is just the kind of guy the royals need. GREAT puck mover and super solid in his zone. The kid is in great shape and "sees" the game very well. A pairing of him and Simms would be scary

Any quality d man paired with Simms would make for a seriou shut down pair against the top lines in the league. Got to say Simms is a workhorse and all around great player on the backend from the games I saw him play. Too bad the guy seems like he is the D core by himself sometimes. Woods will help him out and bolster the royals defense but after those two it's downhill

I couldn't agree more and yet hockeygooroo doesn't see him as top 12 in this league. Try top 5

Cadigan was 18 when he anchored the back end for the Celtics that won the Jr title in 2008.
His D partner for that playoff run was Mitch Flynn of the Flyers, he was a year younger. They also went on to win the Veitch. Cadigan, as captain, led Celtics to another title in 2011. He's very, very talented.
If the likes of Cadigan and Owens ever play in this league there's no doubt in my mind they'll be the top two local D men in the NLSHL.
But, just as T.G. said, if the NLSHL continues to throw their money at imports and treat our local guys with disrespect, this league will continue to struggle.
