Well now... what a difference a year makes...
There were those on here who criticized about the Clarenville Caribous attending the Allan Cup – both last year and this year. Last year they were taunted and called shameful for even attending the Allan Cup. People said they never should have went, there was constant comments about the fact the team didn’t win a game. But they did win something much more valuable as a whole – they won the respect of the other teams attending the Allan Cup in 2010.
Now we skip forward only one year. The Caribous decided to go again for the 2nd year in a row. Again, we had people who taunted, and made fun of the fact the team was even going once again. But look at the difference a single year makes. We take a team who didn’t win a single game last year to a team now who is in the final game for the 2011 Allan Cup… that’s quite an accomplishment if you ask me.
Granted there are a number of factors that play into the success this year. The Caribous themselves, the team they affiliated with, the players who were able to attend, coaching, staff, and not to mention the opposing teams – all this factors into the overall success at the 2011 Allan Cup that the Caribous have had.
On behalf of everyone (fans, executive, sponsors, staff – the list goes on) back home in Clarenville and across the province WE ARE SO POUD OF YOU! WE WIL BE WATCHING AND CHEERING TOMORROW… and even if you aren’t successful in bringing home the cup.. in our eyes, you’re already champions for making it this far in only one year.
We Are Proud Of You 'Bous - what a diff a year makes!
