I want to first say that this has been my favorite junior year in a while as all teams are pretty close which makes for good hockey.

Cataracts: There are some rumors swirling that some of their former top players may be returning to the fold. The Cats have recently been on a roll and will cause havoc in the 2nd half.

Red Wings: The Red Wings have been up and down so far this season. Their goaltending has struggled for much of the year and the Red Wings seem to lack the cohesion a team should have.... too many individuals on this team and that must change in order for them to compete. Another solid year for sniper Grant Vincent and wingman Steve Hobbs and upstart centerman Meade have keep them into games thus far. Tough guy Lundrigan may be returning very soon as well which should improve the Wings up front.

Jets: The Jets have also been up and down this season with suspensions and injuries causing havoc to their lineup. Josh White will be back to add some much needed scoring punch up front. Murley must be even better in the stretch run here for the Jets as he has stolen games for them already this season and must continue to do so in order to make a run at the championship.

Mariners: The rotating player door continues for the 1st place Mariners as they have added some new players to the lineup yet again. Apparently they have 2 or 3 new bodies not counting dman Roger Snow who is apparently going to be in the lineup vs Central in PAB this weekend. I do believe one of the players they have signed is Jordan Mackay from Deer Lake and Curtis Clarke from Baie Verte ... no doubt recruited by Middle Arm players Brett Robinson and the Edgar brothers, not sure on the 3rd player right now.
The Mariners remain in first place in spite of the short bench because of a highly skilled core group. IMHO the Mariners will have to play tougher in the stretch run to become champs of this league.

The 3rd player we have signed is Clarke Leriche, he is a hometown kid and should be a good depth guy for us.

Hopefully we will be having a decent bench this half! The boys needs some relief from the work they are putting in it! Good to hear of the signings hopefully they will work out!
Should make for some interesting hockey fo the rest of the season!

IMO, The RedWings don't have the players to be competitive in the league. You can't expect 2 ayers (Vincent and Hobbs) to carry the team. Even the , the 2 don't really pass the puck then they should. Goaltending is practically horrible, and defensively, are just as bad, if not worse.

Bottom line: for them to be anywhere close to being in contention NEXT YEAR, goaltending needs a 100% overhaul, along with the defensive side. Forward wise, they need to learn how to pass the puck.
