IMO you will see one of two things happen. either; 1- the playoffs get pushed back a weekend or 2-(less likely) the jets will forfeit their game. Although its less likely, it makes some sense because the 2 points mean nothing to the jets, and they save money on travel expenses.

If the mariners get points off of the cats this weekend then i dont see the jets/cats game having to be played cause it not going to mean nothing! Cause the standings will be decided for who plays who in the playoffs! IMO

The only way i see them having to play it is if the cats lose both games tagainst the mariners therefore there would be a tie between the redwings and the cats for second place! So that would have to be decided!

there is no scheduling yet for a make-up game with the Cats and Stephenville. At the beginning of the season we had to forfeit 2 games and 4 points to the Jets. Pushing back the playoffs for a weekend could make it tight when it comes to the playing of the Veitch....
as it stands now, the Cats have games on Sat and Sun VS the Mariners and there is nothing planned or rescheduled against the Jets.

also, if the Red Wings won both games this past weekend against the Jets, that means the Jets will finish 4th in the league regardless of the results of another game VS the Jr-Cats....

we won both games, but the game would mean something to the cats if they lose both games to the mariners, then they would be tied with the wings for second. A forfeit win for the cats would put them 2 points ahead of the wings which gives the cats home ice advantage which is not the best way for the wings to lose home ice

Actually on the league site the game between the jets and cats was already scheduled for the 4th... That was why I was wondering...

The Mariners need a win to clinch first place in the league. The jets are in the basement guaranteed. The other scenario is the mariners lose both games which give the cats first and mariners 2nd meaning there would be no need for the jets/cats makeup game. if the mariners win both games then the cats would have to play the makeup game for home ice vs deer lake as home ice is imo a big advantage in the playoffs.
The cats and Mariners may split the weekend series which would mean the mariners would have 1st and guaranteed 2nd for the cats so again no need for the makeup game....hope that helps.

We lost 4 pts to the Jets already for forfeiting our first two games of the season. So actually we'd only be getting 2 pts back from the 4pts that we lost. At least the Jets have a choice to reschedule or forfeit the game. Our two games that we forfeited at the beginning of the season, eventhough we were outside of the allowed 72 hour cancellation rule, had the 4 pts automatically awarded to the Jets.

as unfortunate as this may sound, although home ice advantage is better on the pocket books for teams, when it comes to absolute fan support and playing in a packed arena, the Mariners are the only team that would benefit from the home ice....

we played in Triton vs the Red Wings last weekend and we had more fans in that one game than we did for almost the entire season combined in GFW.....
