vocm has stated in the past that they do not broadcast games because they interfere with the cabin party on saturday nights. commercial time is apparently more valuable when aired on the cabin party as opposed to a hockey game.

There is a hell of a lot more to getting vocm to broadcast a game than simply asking.. if they feel that the cabin party will draw more revenue than a hockey game.. than they will do that.. business is business. Sucks for hockey fans.. but that's all that can be done.. we should be lucky we get what we do on the west coast..and be happy they do broadcast from time to time outside of deer lake and corner brook during the finals..

And most of all we are lucky that we have great fans in all rinks who post as many updates as possible on this site in a timely manner.Silverhawk wrote:There is a hell of a lot more to getting vocm to broadcast a game than simply asking.. if they feel that the cabin party will draw more revenue than a hockey game.. than they will do that.. business is business. Great job to all who have done that job over the last few seasons.

I agree with you geoguy on the updates. Great to have fans doing the updating. Has anyone thought of webcasting each game? As long as there is a high speed internet connection at the rink, this should be fairly easy to do. It doesn't have to be HD quality, just as long as you can pick it out and follow the game. I don't know exactly how webcasting is done, but I have heard that for the young wiz tech kids out there, it is fairly simple to achieve.
