Who died and made him King!!!!!The gaul of this man is dispeciable to say the least. Grow the game what a joke. More like grow the bank account. Who from the West Coast are going to drive 5-6-7-8-9 hours to St John's. This man in some way has to be removed from HNL's chair. He is going to ruin what is left of high class senior hockey in this Province. This was his whole intention in the beginning let the teams fight it out and suck the life out of the real fans and community of senior hockey and move it all to his glorified Mileone who's fans don't deserve to see a game. What he is doing is going to kill the fan base of hockey outside Clarnville St. John's area. Clarnville is on the doormat of St John's and it will not matter. Time to get a trophy of our own along with getting refs certified. If we don't we will be looking at an AESHL only in this Province. Something has to be done and this is not what the Herder family wanted for the historic trophy . If all teams fundraised 365 days a year may help, not depending on Herder money like they always did.

Someone needs to ask why the herder final has been sold out in the Pepsi Center and Mile One every year previous and not this year. there is no problem with having 5000 at mile one for game 1 and 2 (how many senior leagues in the country can say that?) but the Pepsi Center attendance was embarressing. I have to say the negatitivity towards the final in the media and through the grand falls fans had an effect. But I really think that a 20dollar ticket to a senior final is just elimanating your demographic especially when your selling them in the past for 12 dollars. JMO

you are right there, Why would hnl change anything if everyone supports it If all the teams vote and disagree with hnl than they will have to change it or something, They got to satisfy all the teams

negatitivity from the cats fans .i say if the five hundred cats fan stayed home the attendance would have been terible.

Where was the 500 cat fans ? not at the PC i am sure.. If you totaled them up for the 3 games you would not get 500 .

Poor attendance - look at it in this respect.

1) First year in how many the Cee Bees weren't in the finals? That would take 700-1000 from Mile One for those games.

2) First year there is no East / West Rivalry. Most hockey fans would come out just to see the different team & to cheer on the West. (Or at least I would like to think that).

3) 2 months of negative press saying how poor attendance was going to be. Perhaps it was a self-fulfilling profecy? Dunno, just saying.

4) Neither HNL nor the League promoted this like the event it should have been.

5) Ticket pricing made it too expensive to be a family event. Think of a family of 4 going to a game $80 at the gate just to get in, $4.50 for a beer if one parent wanted to drink let's say 4 beer - another $20, chips, fries, drinks for the kids - another $30. 50/50 tickets - $5.00. 2 lots of other tickets for fundraising - $2.00, Tims coffee before and after $6.00, hot chocolate / donuts for the kiddies - $10.

That's $153 for 1 day out. Corner Brook's economy sucks that's alot of $$$$ for many families.

Just some of my thoughts.
