Just curious who the top players will be for the teams in the league this year?
I have not heard alot from the express but I would assume rookie of the year Jared King will be back for his sophomore season and there is also rumors they lured sniper Jasper Dicks away from the Mariners (Dicks is not one of the players listed on the Mariner team FB page as on the roster, so it may be true)
Bishops falls defense is a question as well with Scott Cantwell gone to play senior and some of there former players gone in the recent AESHL draft including Robert Inder and Grant Samson. Mariner Brett Robinson was also taken in that draft by Mount Pearl, no word if he's gonna play with them or remain with the Mariners.
The Mariners have a strong team according to their new facebook page. Grant Vincent, Jordan Kennedy , Josh Skinner and Garrett Thistle added to an already strong roster.... admittedly there are a few names I am unfamiliar with as they have players from Cape Breton and New Brunswick respectively. Surround those guys with the Mariner core of Nick Tucker, Greg Edgar, Russell Maclean among others should make the Mariners a force... the goaltending duo of Luke Canning and Shane Hatcher return with St. Anthony native Alex Campbell
adding to the goaltending tandem.
I haven't heard much on the Jr Jets front either... their website and facebook page remain quiet as they have yet to announce their roster.

As far as i know jasper dicks will be playing for the express and also the intermediate league with bay verte. The express defence can go either way but they have a lot of size and that is always a big factor. Mike Vaters is also returning this year but the goaltending situation will be the biggest problem for central
a lot of new players for the Jr-Express.... Robert Inder never played here last year, he played in the SSJHL.... We have picked up some big names but I don't want to release much yet and everyone will know anyways after our weekend games next weekend in S-Ville... Last year I battled with a #'s problem all year because of commitment but this year I have 20 committed players and we've been practicing hard. People are fighting for spots and their chance to play and that\s how every team should be. Jasper Dicks is in playing with us.. We have size, speed and skill so I am not worried about our team in any position.... It'll just be nice to start... With this being the 1st year for the Jr-Express, getting everything going is the hardest part and I've still been doing 99% of everything on my own... But I don't mind and I can't wait for some help to come around... But if it don't then I will keep the ship afloat..... I am excited for the season and I know that the Jr-Express will be ready to go when that first puck drops next weekend.
Go Jr-Express GO
