I just wanted to see what everyone thinks of the league so far this year.
I know that some of the scores were a little lop-sided but for anyone watching the games, they know the scores didn't really accurately portray the games.....
The games have been faster-paced and cleaner than last year... It really is making for a great game to watch....
The fan support has been good so far and I am hoping that it will only get better. For a $5 or $6 admission it's really a great deal for sure.....
Leave any and all comments.....

I only played one series yet the year, but it seems competitive so far. It's unfortunate the league only has three teams this year but it's all you can do.
yeah 3 teams is definitely not ideal but I guess we have to play the hand we're dealt... Even last weekend when we won 11-4 and 8-4, there were many times in each game where the score could have went either way... I would like to see a minimum of 200 fans at each game and hopefully the fans will start coming out to see the very affordable and fast-paced hockey... It's a good product and for the majority of the league players, they will play on the Senior Circuit in the coming years. So people should start coming out now so they can follow the player's careers as they progress from NFLD Jr hockey to NFLD Sr hockey....

Personally, I think this league has really dropped off over the past number of years. Its too bad as well because junior hockey can be exciting at times, however, with 3 teams and more high scores then close scores its hard to keep fan interested. Been the same winners in the league which seems like forever (may of been one different winner in like 10 years - cant remember now)
As for the comment, the majority of players will play in the senior circuit, you must be referring to the central NL senior rec league or the AESHL because as for the NLSHL only very few players have moved onto that league (as a full time player ) over the past 3 or 4 years.
I would expect that the league will fold in the next few years or they will cont to hang onto a 3 team league with just parents and friends in the stands watching games.

Saturday's game in Stephenville drew around 400 I believe.
If the team occasionally wins a couple of games or keeps them close, they will draw people. 3 wins in the last 4 games is a great start. If they can keep picking up some W's, they should draw a decent crowd by the time the next home game rolls around on February 23.
