Thoughts on the upcoming Herder series. I know the ECSHL series isn’t over yet but the next two games are nothing more than a formality (I predict tonight will be a blow out up the Shore).

I think Clarenville will win the Herder in 4 games straight over the Caps, Downer might steal one game but that will be it, maybe another close game but the rest will be blow outs.

Yeah I think it was a big mistake starting Bray. Downer is clearly the better goalie. Really can’t see the Shore taking this series, especially now that they’ll probably have to do it with out one of their better players in Kavanagh after a hit to the head in the first few shifts of the game.

Look to see the Caps rebound next game and then take the series in six games with Downer starting the next two games!

@HockeyFan29... you couldn't believe the shore won game 2, so then you predicted a 5 game series.. now the series is tied at 2 and has to go atleast 6 games... we are now aware you have the hockey prediction skills of craig button (which isn't very good)! Everyone knows you are rooting for St. John's, but everyone is tired of reading your biased comments about the series that you probably haven't seen half the games of! So, stop posting about a hockey series between two teams you know very little about!

p.s...thanks for your assumptions/concern but i'll be playing next game!

Yours truly, Kavanagh

It’s unfortunate when people on here, like hockeyfan29, post inaccuracies about a team or playoff series. The regulars that come here to see what the talk or results are, get misinformed because of that. I’ve been at every game of this series and the Breakers have outplayed the Caps 10 of 12 periods. If not for Downer, SJ Caps would’ve lost game 1 and the series would be in a SS stranglehold right now. But alas, here we are with a best of 3 remaining which should be pretty good games if the first 4 are any indication.

Caps played against weak competition all year and short benches. They play with energy which makes them hard to play against but they lack the top talent. The shore has the top talent upfront Nicholas, Pye, Kavanagh and a couple others. They can carry this team to a win this series.

The Caps may have been a bit overconfident splitting the games between Downer and Bray. It's pretty obvious over the last 7-8 years that Downer is this teams MVP year in and out. Usually you go with your best. I understand Wally wants to give his son a few games but a good coach would put his team first and give them the best chance to win. I bet if they make it to the herder he won't be splitting the games.

Wow, my posts have certainly drawn a lot of criticism. But I stand by what I said, the Caps will win this series if they play Downer the rest of the way. Also, I’ve been at two of the four games in the series so I know a little about the series.

Saturday night was all St. John’s except for maybe the last 10 minutes of the game. See you at Jack Byrne in three weeks time to watch the Caps vs Caribou’s.

Fine. I'll feed into your obsession with the Caps. SS outplayed SJ in 9.5 of the 12 periods of the first 4 games. Happy?
