Don't be too sure there Outsider .. stay tuned ..
Why do GFW need those two players? Both are now starring on their local teams, neither live in or are from Grand Falls Windsor so their only incentive would be to go back for money. Why can’t the Cats replace those two with local players? I’m sure they can find a couple guys in the Central Intermediate league to replace them. That would the sensible solution; grow your teams through local guys.
How many players on the Caribous are from Clarenville?
Not the question at hand here. Nice try though. Two can play that game:
How many players from CBN are on the Cee Bees?
How many players from Corner Brook or living in Corner Brook are on the Royals?

Question was why would two guys in Simms (captain of his hometown team) and Bussey leave their hometown teams to go back with the Cataracts? It’s like GenoSniper said those guys are far more important to their local teams than they are to the GFW Cataracts. It’s up to the Cats organization here to do the right thing and fill their roster spots with local guys or not do the right thing and throw piles of money at those guys.

Why deflect my question, you think players from the Caribous are not getting paid. If they weren't they would be gone back to their respective hockey associations. Please don't try and make this all about the two central teams compensating there players. I know, you know and the fans in Clarenville know that player on the Caribous are compensated.. which is fine by me, they deserve it and the fans in Clarenville deserve to see Senior Hockey, as do the two remaining Central teams.
As for Simms playing in Deer lake and Lindstrom in port aux Basque, if you think there not being compensated, your living in a bubble. They will be the two best players in that league by a country mile.

I doubt you'll see Lindstrom in a Mariners jersey now that the Cataracts will be playing. Not sure about Simms. We'll see. I'm told Bussey wanted to stay in the east this year due to work so I'm guessing he'll stay there. I don't know of any other players considering leaving to play elsewhere.

I guess Breannan will stay put to, Rumors he was going to the Eagles after Christmas

Brennan was rumoured to be joining the Shore, not the Eagles. The Breakers own his rights as he is from the Gould’s.

this is from Carl Lake's SportsPage .

_________________________________________________________________________________________
The fact that there will not be a senior hockey league in Central Newfoundland this season has proven to be beneficial to one team in the west coast senior hockey league.
The Port Aux Basque Mariners have picked former Grand Falls Cataracts defenseman Niklas Lidstrom.
Lidstrom has won Herders with Grand Falls Windsor and also an Allan Cup.
The Mariners also chose rookie forward Nick Evans in the draft as well.
It’s Lindstrom, not Lidstrom Carl

That was just cut and paste from Carl's The Sportspage. His error not mine. I never heard of Mr. Lindstrom.

How many players on the Caribous are from Clarenville?
Here is the Clarenville line-up from their season opener on 15 Nov. 19:
Kenny Mahoney 1 1 2 0 0 0 0 0
Mason Reid 1 0 1 0 0 0 0 0
Tyler Whittle 0 1 1 0 0 0 0 2
Jeremy Masters 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 4
Justin Pender 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 2
Mike Dyke 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0
Josh St George 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0
Rodney Mahoney 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0
Andrew Smith 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0
Chad Earle 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0
Dustin Flight 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0
Dustin Russell 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0
Grant Ellis 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0
Lucas Goobie 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0
Lyndon Goobie 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0
Redmond Hunt 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0
Curtis March 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0
Andrew Murley 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0

Players not from Clarenville or their territorial area:
Kenny Mahoney
Justin Pender
Mike Dyke
Rodney Mahoney
Chad Earle
Redmond Hunt

Thats 6 out of 18 guys who are not local to Clarenville or within the territorial area of the Caribous. Lots of young guys from the area getting a shot. Nothing wrong with it.

Here is the Cataracts line-up from game five of the Herder:
Nicklas Lindstrom 0 2 2 0 0 0 0 2
Michael Brent 1 0 1 0 0 0 0 0
Patrick Yetman 1 0 1 0 0 0 0 0
Alex Dalley 1 0 1 0 0 0 0 0
Andre Gill 0 1 1 0 0 0 0 0
Kyle McGuirk 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 2
Rodi Short 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 2
Michael Cole 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 2
Sammy Hounsell 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 2
David Byrne 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0
Jason Saunders 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0
A.J. Whiffen 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0
Greg Hoffe 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0
Shawn Loveridge 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0
Danny Wicks 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0
Brandon Bussey 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0
Bradley Lewis 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0
Jason Stone 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0
Andrew Brennan 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0
Stephen Simms 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0

Guys not Grand-Falls Windsor or their territorial area:
Nicklas Lindstrom
Patrick Yetman
Kyle McGuirk
Rodi Short
Michael Cole
Sammy Hounsell
Danny Wicks
Brandon Bussey
Andrew Brennan
Stephen Simms

Thats half the team not from the area.

Why do the Cataracts need Simms, Bussey, and Lindstrom back? They have all committed to other teams that need them far more than the Cataracts do. The Cataracts can give a game to some young guys from the area the same as Clarenville have done. Isn't this about growing and fostering senior hockey provincially and making it viable for all teams?

Rumor confirmed or are you confirming he will be suiting up with the Breakers?
