I have to disagree. It may be "natural", but it creates disparity in a fledgling league. Not all teams can afford to provide a end-of-season dividend. So herein lies the problem. We now have 2 teams providing monetary compensation (admittingly) and two teams that aren't. It would be fine if the people sitting at the league table could control themselves, but as we've just seen, they aren't capable. Those payments were dolled out in a strict non-paid league. If you open the door an inch, those end-of-season payments of $300 move upwards, and it gets out of control. Just as it always has... over and over again. Now, try to get those horses back in the barn! Revenue sharing would be ideal, but there's no way that'll ever happen.Hockey Eyes wrote: ↑Tue Jun 05, 2018 3:50 pmIt would seem that the Royals taking the available pot of money and then splitting it up at the end of the season is a very natural thing to do... but a few bucks for services after a successful season is also no problem. The next move for the west would be something along the lines of revenue sharing.
Where is the New League ?

Your points are well made and your concerns certainly valid. Revenue sharing would require honesty and a commitment from all teams... Perhaps I am naive.
One thing has been established . Fans will come out to see local amateur hockey that is founded in the community. At least a couple of teams ARE willing to " share the wealth". That is a good start. I hope it works out. It is certainly a league on the right track and it is hoped they have learned from the excesses of the past.
