Honestly, this is very legit. Reports from deerlake of near 1200 fans at the game tonight. People don't realize how lucky they are to have a senior hockey team to watch. It's too late when it's all gone. The west coast is rediscovering it and I hope the rest of the island does as well.

I wish I had the opportunity to see the game on the broadcast. Was out in CeeBeeLand. Matter of fact I'm in the backseat of a car on way back to town. I have 3 draws of the Brier to attend tomorrow but I may give away my 3pm draw tickets to watch the West game. Gushue isn't on the ice then anyways.

Pretty close to capacity for Finals opening game -- In the range of 1000 (including standing-room crowd that surrounded the boards at both ends of the Stadium...
Great buzz in the place and even better hockey than in awhile to go with the rowdy and boistrous fans. Fair number of Bous fans also.
Could be a bigger crowd tomorrow with jerseys of two Hall of Famers, former Andcos defenceman Clar Goulding and former Cats sniper Wayne Faulkner being retired and raised to the rafters. Great PR for the Cataracts who always seem to do the right things in running a community-centred central area team!

Back from the game and must say it rekindled the love for senior hockey. Players had an edge. Goalies were amazing. Fast skating, some hard hits, great atmosphere in the rink. What better way to spend a Saturday night.

That's unlike Rosie, but atleast he left like a good sport and didn't show his displeasure by knocking the ref out with a water bottle.
