Way too early for sour grapes.

Isn't there a rule that a league has to play a certain number of games to be eligible to compete for the Herder? I thought teams/leagues needed to play at least 20 games before they could compete for the Herder. I may be wrong but it seems I remember hearing or reading that somewhere. It may have changed if it did exist, anything is possible in Sr. Hockey in NL.

There was a 'rule' in the HNL Constitution that required 10 Home and 10 Away games for a Season...
But, I believe that was amended by vote approval at HNL recent Provincial Meetings to lower those numbers . I think was changed to a 'total' of 14 or 16(?)

Either way this negates any chance of the Cats or Flyers playing for the Herder if this league/agreement ever gets off the ground unless HNL makes some changes to it's constitution.aseyeseesit wrote: ↑Wed Dec 11, 2019 2:30 pmThere was a 'rule' in the HNL Constitution that required 10 Home and 10 Away games for a Season...

The Cats and Flyers have already announced that they will play three(3) weekends at Home and Away - for a 12 Game Schedule...
There are also negotiations, as I hear, with West Coast League teams for at least a one weekend visit by central teams with some ,( maybe 2 of their teams ?), of the west coast teams , which would readily 'hit' the 14 -16 total Game threshold. Also, I hear there are even more creative discussions going on by central teams and "others" to make hockey continue to happen in this region, with a focus on being able to compete for another Herder... Stay tuned!

Only way it happens is if the teams are playing for the Herder. How that unfolds I Have no idea. However, after chatting with a few of the younger guys this week I would be surprised if we see this happen at all.

Any word out there as to who was picked in last night's Draft for CWSHL? It appeared there were 10 names listed in Draft?
And, any news on the actual start-up date for the Cats vs. Flyers games?

Time for the Cats and Flyers management to make an announcement and let the fans know that this is not gonna happen as planned.
