Question is will the team remain the corner brook royals or go with a more regional name to represent a regional club. Also will the fans in corner brook buy into it?wingsdiehard wrote:the hodder will be a rocking again this fall as it was confirmed today by corner brook president ross coates the team will play their home games at the hodder memorial complex in deer lake!!
Personally I like it as it broadens the fan base and gives a more regional feel to the club

Well, well, well.....the unavoidable has finally happened. The "fans" in CB have had ample opportunity to keep their team in the Pepsi Center but a facility that size needs to be 3/4 full at least, not 1/4.
I hope people don't take it upon themselves to point the finger at Ross for this move. I'm positive that nobody would have made the personal and financial sacrifices that Ross has made to try to save the Royals. Hats off to Ross for his dedication and hard work.
Now if I were from Deer Lake I would be adament that the team be named the Western Red Wings since they have to play out of the former Red Wings home facility in order to survive.
Good luck Ross and the Royals(?). Hope this move keeps the team afloat and that the fans of Deer Lake and CB put a bit more effort into supporting the team. Please realize that this is the last chance at icing a team from your area.
Btw...I'm a long time Royals fan and a former Red Wings hater when the rivalry was very much alive but I hope others like me will put that aside and support "our" team this year like I did last year.
