West Coast League a Go

Sources have revealed that there will be a West Coast Senior Hockey League this year. However, the Stephenville Jets will not return.

Our sources say they were unable to get enough players to ice a competitive team.

The league will be comprised of three teams, the Deer Lake Red Wings, the Corner Brook Royals and the Port Aux Basque Mariners.

The season is set to begin November 22, 2019 with each team slotted to play 12 games.

There is also some initial talks of the winner from this league’s championship playing for the Herder Memorial Cup. More details on this will be worked out throughout the season.

This is great news for the west coast hockey fans.
