League's weekend scheduled opens with victory by league's newest team, finishes with Breakers shutting out Eagles

Mark Yetman made 26 saves and Michael Chafe scored twice as the Southern Shore Puglisevich Breakers blanked the Northeast The Bigs Eagles 6-0 in East Coast Senior Hockey League play at the Ken Williams Southern Shore Arena Sunday night.

Brandon Baird, Brendan Houlihan, Andrew Brennan and Blake Dalton also scored for the Breakers.

It was one of four games on the East Coast senior slate over the weekend, including one Friday, when the Harbour Grace Ocean Enterprise CeeBee Stars registered their first win of the seasons, recording a 5-4 victory over the visiting Conception Bay Blues.

The other weekend results saw the Clarenville Ford Caribous trim the CeeBees 8-3 Saturday and the St. John’s Caps get past the Eagles 5-4 in a shootout..

Friday at the Danny Cleary Community Centre in Harbour Grace, Bradley Budden scored twice as the CeeBees edged the Blues for their first ECSHL victory. The CBN team joined the league last month.

On the same night at Twin Rinks, St. John’s goalie Kyle Downer foiled Northeast players Brandon Bussey, Andrew Paul and Liam Myers in the shootout to preserve the win. Jordan Escott scored for the Caps in the shootout, which proved to be the game-winner.

Kyle McGrath scored twice in regulation time, and Roger Pender and Colin O’Neil added singles for the Caps. Myers, Coady Barron, Tyler Bennett and Tyler Walshe had the Northeast goals in regulation time.

Saturday at the Eastlink Events Centre, Ken Mahoney and Chris Sparkes both had three goals, and Kevin Reid scored twice for the homestanding Caribous. Replying for the CeeBees were Brett Shute, Ryan Dawson and Brandon Carlson.

Nice to see some updates, you do these yourself? If so good job, a little update on all games. This isn’t sarcasm either, I know Insider will be here soon, so I though I’d let you guys know before I get crapped on.
