Okay, this could not have played out better ... we have the two leading scorers from the regular season set to go against one another.
The youthful exuberance of Hynes who has gone on record to say that he doesn't feel the Royals are the underdogs and the experience of Fergus who has shown he's arguably the best player in the league right now.
This is going to be a treat for fans to watch IMO.

This series should have it all. Guys who can play physical on both clubs like macdonald and Penney for CB and short and bussey for gfw. You have the skilled players in Fergus and wicks for gfw vs. Hynes and salvis for CB. In goal whiffen vs. GillisNLHockeyTalk.ca wrote:Okay, this could not have played out better ... we have the two leading scorers from the regular season set to go against one another.

This should be good. Depth could be the difference.

I really hope this series lives up to all of our expectations. I honestly can say I haven't been so excited for senior hockey in quite some time..geoguy wrote:This series should have it all. Yetman had a great year.. Also, you add in all the games gill missed to injury and Brennan missed for work and you have a lot of powerful forwards with a lot of points.. That gill yetman Brennan line last Friday night was dangerous looking.. Speedy. Brennan never came back after the first but I'm willing to bet if they played all game together they would've put up some points.smogdog wrote:i guess you forgot about yetman who was also tied for second
You're missing Pender when you talk about tough guys who can play. He rates well up there.geoguy wrote:This series should have it all. There are many similarities between these teams. Pender as you mentioned matches up well against Brent. We can go through the lineups and come up with endless parities

Just had a quick look at the stats and it seems that young Hynes all but disappeared in the 2nd half of the season. He got off to a great start with 26 pts in his first 10 games but only 10 points in his last 12. Less than 1 per game as his team was battling for 1st place during much of that time. That's less production than the Top 22 scorers in the league averaged over the whole season. It'll be interesting to which one shows up for the finals. The 2.6 pts per game player or the 0.83 pt per game player. Could be the difference between a long or short series.
