I watched both games this weekend and although I'm a die hard Cats fan, I was very impressed with the Flyers team. They were a little tentative Saturday night but out skated the Cats for two periods today in Gander. My message to Flyer fans is to be patient with the team and support them as much as you can. They are on the right track. I sat behind the Flyers bench today and those players were very passionate about the game and were very intense.
I was surprised to see two Flyers fans with paper bags over their heads. This is usually a sign of a team in a slump or winless and fans being embarrassed about their team. You have nothing to feel bad about. You're getting top flight entertainment and the quality of the hockey is excellent. Keep buying game tickets and 50/50 tickets and help the volunteers. Your whole community needs to embrace the team and you'll be rewarded later. I know this is what happened with our Cats and Clarenville.
Anyway, great hockey this weekend. It's a along season. Good luck to all, especially our Cats Hee hee.
Cats fan's message to Flyer's fans
Got to say Spiff...I felt like going over and hauling the bags off those people. They looked ridiculous. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and say it was part of their costume. But, it is a no no in my book. If you are ashamed of your team, stay the hell home out of it.
I hope the fan support continues. I feel pretty confident it will with great games like today. Hopefully, they will learn how to cheer and make noise even without a goal being scored. It will happen.

Thanks Spiff,
I agree we have a team that's worth supporting and it will not be long before the old GNDR GFW rivalry will be alive and strong (if it's not alive already).
As for the 1200 fans at the game today .......the only people that should be embarrassed were the two with bags on their heads!

Yeah, its not like watching a Blue jackets/red wings game. The flyers put up a fight and keep the other team on their heels. Theyre very close to being a contender. You feel if theres a tweek here or a tweek there it can be a realization.
