Can anyone tell me what way the players get paid for the playoffs in this league? Im just curious because I know in the NHL, their contracts dont include the playoffs. The teams are given bonuses from the league which are distributed throughout the team however the owner decides. The further the playoff teams go, the more bonuses they get. The player's cut is much less than what they make in the regular season.
Players in this league get played very well compared to non pro leagues anywhere else and sometimes it shows that some are in it more for the extra cash then for the desire to win. Hopefully, that changes when the playoffs start and they want to bring home the championship for the team and the fans. So will a cut in pay in the playoff affect their pay?
I think this could be an option for the league, if its not already in. Teams would save a hell of alot more money and, if Mile One and Pepsi Center generate more money, then by having the herder at these arenas every 3(just a guess on the number) could help finance the entire playoffs and herder being played at the teams own home rinks for the next few years.
Its just another idea and I'm not sure how it works here...just a discussion piece

I think max player salary is $350.00 per game.... some on here have suggested that certain players have received some sort of signing bonus to circumvent the salary cap....nlhockeyfan wrote:Can anyone tell me what way the players get paid for the playoffs in this league? That being said I would be very, very surprised if ANY player with ANY team in this league were promised playoff bonuses.

What I mean is that the players salaries stop after the regular season. Thats how it works in the NHL. The only money players receive are the bonuses the league pays them for each round of the playoffs
Get a life boy, most NHL salaries are in the millions, those guys get in most cases $400 to $500 a weekend and now your talking about them not getting paid at all. Unless things have changed players still get paid during playoffs.nlhockeyfan wrote:What I mean is that the players salaries stop after the regular season. Thats how it works in the NHL. The only money players receive are the bonuses the league pays them for each round of the playoffs

Players still get paid. It is for less cash however and its paid to the team in a lump sum by the league. That money increases for every series the teams play in and even more if they win. If they make as much money from the herder as what people say this year, the revenue could be used to fund the playoffs for the next few years and ensure the teams play out of their own rink.jimmyjoe wrote:Get a life boy, most NHL salaries are in the millions, those guys get in most cases $400 to $500 a weekend and now your talking about them not getting paid at all.
