What is the shape of a hockey puck?: triangle

This is where all the fuss came from the owner groups wanting the players to be considered not employees but working for themselves from game to game. The "smart" players would get this "personal services" contract in writing but most would just assume they would be paid if they play and not get paid if they don't.I have been privy to a few cases where the team would not sign a personal contract(not a card for the team)with the player due to the possibility that he may get hurt and cost the team the same money as if he were playing. I can pretty well guess that anyone that is injured will not get paid unless they have signed this type of deal, very rare for this league, and usually it would be even more rare for someone to take out an insurance policy to protect them in case of injury, and very unlikely for any team or insurance company to carry that risk. This was the main reason why the PHPA and the NHLPA was formed,to protect the players, but that is a little different, the players are actually employed by the team and not self employed,as the teams want it to be right now.I guess it comes down to the fact that if you play, you run the risk of injury, and if you haven't got it in writing, no pay for you! No union in this league and never will be.

Thanks for your reply DC25. I figured as much. Lots of little tricky things that come into play in this type of semi-pro-league thats for sure like no standard Player Contract to utilize.
