The Biggest difference with the Cats and other teams the past several seasons is their coaching. They have been very structured and team first oriented where as the other teams have iced all star rec teams ( if you understand what I mean). So it will be the utmost importance to have a quality person behind the bench whose knowledgeable and a respected leader.
Disappointing that Fergus and Whiffen have moved on but that's the unfortunate reality of amateur sport particularly with imports. Fergus has been one of the best imports the league has seen and a character person off the ice as well. That's a big loss for the team and the community but I'm sure the Cats executive, with their track record, will be able to unearth another solid import and use an import goalie card to add to the team!

Fergy is the biggest loss.... who do you get to replace a 40 point player? Fergy was a fan favourite from the beginning. Circelli would be a good pick if he's available? Very interested who we get for a new goalie, there will be 3 goalies in camp this season! Dyke, Stone and an Import leads to healthy competition

Hopefully, official announcement comes soon. If true, what I'm hearing will be exciting news in GF-W and will fill the losses of Fergus and Whiffen. Yetman will be there, and with the new additions, the team looks better then last year. Hard to believe, but they improved on the defense too....imo !
With the addition of Hynes,Simms and Guy the Cats got better IMO.. There losing Fergus (huge loss) but replaced with a equal player or better. Whiffen, replaced with a Import tender, hopefully as good. But on D, they have gotten better:
Gallant - Simms
Short - Brent
Lindstrom - Hounsell
Guy - Hoffe
I can see them using Lewie as a extra forward as need be....
There D is deeper and probably best depth on D in all the league!

Someone did this before in a previous post but it looks this way now
Sibley - replaced with Randell (great speed and pk)
Croft - replaced with Simms, major upgrade
Whiffen - replaced with Gillis, if you had to have a replacement for Whiffen, Gillis was a solid signing!
Hynes - upgrade added to roster
Fergus - replaced with Circelli, two different players, but a solid replacement giving the Cats two top centers in Circelli/Yetman because we all seen what Circelli can bring to the lineup 40 points for him this season! JMO
Yetman - over half a season Im betting he will play
Dyke - adds depth to the goaltending situation due to travel, weather, injury
The rest of the core is returning, so IMO, the Cats are deeper/better then last season with the returning players!

Circelli couldn't crack 35 WITH Fergus so without him, I can barely see him cracking 30 points, let alone 40 but you never know what will happencatsfan96 wrote:Someone did this before in a previous post but it looks this way now

I think its going to be very interesting to see how the Cats look with life after Fergus. An exceptional player who made those around him better. Can Circelli, Wicks and company produce at the same level without Cam leading the way? Time will tell but Fergus was the straw that stirred the drink in GFW I don't think anyone can argue that.FlyersFan2012 wrote:Circelli couldn't crack 35 WITH Fergus so without him, I can barely see him cracking 30 points, let alone 40 but you never know what will happencatsfan96 wrote:Someone did this before in a previous post but it looks this way now
