Facility is too big put 1500-2000 fans in a 6500 person facility and there will be no atmosphere and eventually attendance would drop down to the hundreds. A team out of St. John's would work out of the Jack Byrne Arena on Torbay Road though. 1200 person facility so if you could fill that every game you would haved atmosphere. Feel like rurual newfoundland teams. Only thing about having a team from St. John's would be tough for all the other teams. Why would Pearcey, Delaney's, Short, Wadden, Hedges, Penney, Mooney, Peach, Druken, Ryan, Warren etc leave the overpass if they can get the same dollar from a team in town??? So I think it would be tougher for team outside of St. John's to attract players like they do now. But I do like the idea of a Provincial league and I am sure it could work.
the hardest part would be attracting the players off the avalon for sure,im not sure what the solution would be besides paying the bigger $,but thats what they should try and get away from cuz its slowly ruinin the hockey, but im sure somebody should be able to come up with somethin

The re are a lot of people in the east exec that would love a provincial league and it almost came true this year except a couple of west teams ;) ;) went against it. believe me when i say this the delaney's and company wouldn't have went west if the league had changed. FACT!!!!!!

in regards to a team from St. John's, I don't think it will work. Some how the CITY won't support senior hockey. Now with teams in HR. Grace, MT. Pearl, Southern Shore and the four teams out west would make a good league, if the west would go for it. Thats who stopped it this year.

People-in-the-know are telling me there will be a QMJHL team playing out of Mile One next season. Placing a Senior team there would be a failure from the beginning if these people are telling me correctly.

..

If not next year ,it will be the year after , there will be no senior hockey on the west coast as we now know it .. The teams from out east are now starting to pay out the big bucks for the players so you will not see the players go out west to have a game when they can stay home and get the same money

If it was run by the right people, it could work.

Corner Brook Royals.
Grand Falls Windsor Cataracts.
Gander Flyers.
Clarenville Caribous.
Cee Bee's ????????????????
St. John's Caps.

I think there is money to be made if this operation was done right.

Why a question mark by the Cee Bees?
