I get your point but it's not really that simple either because eventhough there are two ticket booths in the stadium, the stadium powers-that-be (in their wisdom) only opens one. If the doors open at 6:55 and everybody shows up then, you'll have a line-up out to the street or longer. By the time the person in the ticket booth processes everybody, part of the first period is over. I think the solution is to open the doors at 6:30, open two ticket booths and have a separate door for people who already have their tickets bought so they don't have to be cutting in front of the people in the line-up, making those people (who are already pissed off even more pissed off because it seems like someone is jumping the line). Someobody needs to do something because right now it's nothing but a mess. Not buying 50/50 tickets is not the answer because that is only hurting the ceebees organization and they are not the ones at fault here.

I arrived at the arena last night at 6:55 and there already was a line up about fifty feet back from the doors. Line movement was real slow (only one ticket booth open again). People were complaining everywhere in the line. By this time the line was within twenty feet of the gate on the street.(longer by at least another fifty feet and people still coming into the line). After about 10-15 minutes someone must have embarrassed someone in management and they opened the other ticket booth. Line went a lot faster. I got in to my spot on the rail just as the teams were leaving the ice after warm up. That's not called for. Every other arena in the league, that I go to, you just walk up and within 2-3 minutes you have you ticket in hand and on your way to your seat.
Same crap last year, all year, but especially during the play-offs. During one of the last games between CeeBees and Breakers the line extended out into the street and up to the Powell's Supermarket parking lot and if I remember correctly that was a cold miserable night. By the time every one got in the arena they were half frozen to death. God even if they opened both ticket booths it would help. Without a doubt, JMHO, this has to be the least caring about the teams support, and fans of any arena on the island. Don't someone at the arena or for that matter the council in Hr Grace have any idea how much money is spent getting to, getting in and at the arena. Far too much not to be treated better than what we are. Time for someone, arena management, town council or the sports commission to take some action on this. Hr Grace promotes itself on the radio as the sports capital of Newfoundland. Don't know about being the sports capital, but it treats its LOYAL fans like crap

.... alot of "true fans" like to watch the warm up and show their team support from start to finish ( i hardly missed a practice let alone a game in four years ). imo if a team sees alot of their fans at the warm up it tells them there is alot intrest and support in their success .
so to all you GREAT fans who have braved the cold weather in order to support your GREAT TEAM , i send my sincerist congrats and admiration for your continued dedication to a GREAT franchise .

............ KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK .........

I have to agree. I show up to watch the warm up all the time . Not only in Hr Grace but on the road as well so who ever is running the arena now in Hr Grace its time to wake up . And to "The Eye" keep it up your are doing a good job fighting for the fans we need more like you ;-) and you we need that Horn back   I was at the game Friday night and I never had to line up paid and went in , so I dont know what the fuss is out there in Hr Grace .

I'll throw this out there for consideration. The team could rent the ice starting at 6 o'clock, that way people on the ice until six could be out of the rink by 6:20 and they could open the doors at 6:30. The extra half hour rental wouldn't cost that much and the fans sure would be happier. The stadium would have to start their rentals a half hour earlier on that day, not a big issue I would think. ????

That would make sense. In Torbay and Mt.Pearl the doors are open early. It does not matter if there are people on the ice or not. In torbay they always have minor hockey until 6:30 but they are allowing fans to come in anyways..
