the import rule last year went down to 2 so he couldn't play with the cats till the allan cup and maybe they were the only team he wanted to play for lol

Rumour has it cats knew fergus wouldn't be back this season so they paid him to sit home and come back this year!

Always love this site and the conspiracy theorists who hang out here. Especially love when they take off there tinfoil hats to enlighten us to the rumours they've heard up around the rink or tims. I'm a little more of a realist and believe that the only people who know why Colin didn't play last year is Colin and the cats executive. Talk from anyone else is just that TALK.

Id like to actually discuss this rumor that keeps going around. People keep saying thw cats paid him to sit home. What logic is there in that ?

Restrictions to allan cup play?
Circelli played for the cats the year before so no matter of he played for the flyers last year he could still play in the allan cup with the cataracts
Even if he hadnt, the cataracts brought stuart mccrae to the allan cup with them. So even if he was an import to another team they coild still take him.
So unless i am missing something, there was no reason to pay him to keep him available for the allan cup.

Now with regards to league play.
Why pay a player to sit a whole year when you want him to play in the allan cup for you ? Doesnt it make sense to let him play for the flyers all season and get in awesome shape for the allan cup ?


The only risk i can see is the cats wouldnt want Circelli to play for another team because that would make the team too powerful and they wouldnt win last seasons herder.

The cats would have to be able to tell the future to be anle to forsee how every other teams imports would be, how they would play, how the cats would finish etc,etc.

If a team signs an import does he require that teams release to play for another team ? If he signed with the flyers last season but then wanted to sign with the cats this year, would the flyers hold him hostage ?

I just cant look at this idea of paying circelli to sit and see it from any angle that makes sense.
