And if the situation were reversed it would be you leading the band of whining.

Funny thing is, had Hollett just consulted with the other officials, things would be so different had the goal still been allowed. Oh, the fact that he spoke out of both sides of his mouth doesn't help matters. Either he saw the puck go in or he didn't. He has said he saw it go in and then that he wasn't in a good position to see it. Which is it?

My theory is he realized his error and that's why he refused to consult the other on ice officials. His ego couldn't handle admitting he made a mistake.

I just hope that he never gets to officiate again.

To remember how fans complained about Brian Rice. Hahaha. I bet there are many who wish he was still refereeing senior hockey.
Go BOUS Go!

Took 2 days to put together this garbage. We expect nothing more from a bunch of idiots running this show. As I stated before the refs are not border guards but they sure act like it. Someone posted earlier of a game in Sask. that a mistake was made and they played part of the game again. This ref has been incompenent all year. Arrogant is perhaps a better word..Sure hope he is proud of himself making the national news for all the wrong reasons. I for one will not be supporting a league run as bad as this one.
Lets do as they did on the west coast and tell the Avalon dictators where to go.. I have attended games in Torbay and the Goulds. Hardly anyone in attendance. Plus the hockey was not even near the caliber of the west. Only by combining the league could they compete with the west.

Rules where not followed...what a pile of garbage, didn't expect any better from these clowns. Like I said they got what they wanted...had the result been the other way Ian sure we would be reading a different statement today.

what a pile of **** garbage he said that he seen the puck go in the net and if he did he seen it going in on the side of the net which is no goal.THEN he tells dustin Russell one thing and has the balls to tell Jason Churchill something else,THEN MR JACK LEE makes a bold headed statement that he cant accept the caribous protest because of this judgement by a bone headed person u call a referee,YES it was a terrific series ,I think they should hollett the mayor of harbour grace because that's where he belongs,SO CEEBEES go and enjoy your herder the one that u didn't win and be the laughing stock of nl,oh yes one more thing make sure that hollett sits at the head table for his loyalty to the ceebees and his disrecptable for the caribous,MR HOLLETT there will be a pair of glasses in the mail for u,

I spoke with a referee whom lets just say Don Kelly or even Hollett wouldn't tie his skate laces. Here was their comments:

1) Hollett was not in appropriate position as an official for the play

and

2) There was sufficient on ice evidence that he was almost obligated to consult with the other on ice officials
So what is the obligation of the other on-ice officials? If the other ref saw anything different wouldn't he approach Hollett and say he saw the puck go under the bar? Clearly he didn't see it either or he would have done so.

Another hockey expert who beleives a puck going under the side of the net is a "GOOD GOAL"..
AND he is president of HNL, how did he get there and how and when will he be replaced.
Your response is terrible.. just defending the actions of the referee..How childish..
Leaders beleive what they see..not what they want to hear or see..

Jack Lee and Company made the only decision that was possible under the rules. It was a judgement call and there is no room to overturn it. I found it interesting that Jack Lee referenced Churchill as being the one responsible for kicking the net off which was correct . It doesn't change the mistake but it sort of indicates Jason was the architect of his own misfortune...although it was an accident. If his skate hadn't knocked the net off then the puck would have hit the metal and .... could have ... would have ...should have ....we will never know . All we know now is the the CeeBees representing the AESHL are the champions.
It won't take the sting out of out for the best but you really should have put the CeeBees away... They weren't supposed to win a game or even keep one close. They split at home and as I mentioned...learned from the playing the Caribous. The Caribous seemed to learn nothing and the talk here wasn't about forechecking or finishing checks ...it was whether the planes would get in with you mainland players....and who had arrived in the afternoon and who was in since last night .. ...it seemed there was a lack of focus ....
Still .... the puck didn't cross the line ... but ... stuff happens in sports .

And there we have it folks, the master has spoken. So you think that Jason is responsible, Ian Hollett and the Clowns in the navy Blazers are the cause if this mess. Hollett for lying to everyone involved and Don Kelly for having incompetent officials schedules for this caliber hockey. So eyes what did you do with your green blazer?
