Well it is the Eye again, Joe I think you are living in a dream World if you thinks the East League will ever win another Herder if both Leagues are aloud to operate using different financial rules. The only reason the Ceebees been successful is because guys that played with Flatrock (i.e. Chris Bartlett, Eddie Oates, Neil Cleary, Shaun Fagan, Jeff Oates, Ian Moores and even Chris Crosbie) wanted to play with their friends and wanted to win despite the cash being thrown around out west. The money being offered out west now has gone over the top though. Teams like Grand Falls (who also have major financial support from their Town council) are offering guys crazy amounts of money - so much so that they simply can't refuse. All this talk about volunteers and raising money is bull****......Charging $12 a ticket for regular season home games and being able to keep 100% of the gate is what it's all about. Plus teams in the west get to keep their own Bar & Canteen revenue ! Let alone the cash the team that makes it to the Herder gets ! HNL are to blame here and it's about time they stepped up - took the bull by the horns and implemented the SAME rules (financial, disciplinary, officiating etc.) so that senior hockey will survive. And not just 3 or 4 teams out west (whose players are predominately from the East coast).

great post eye.however, i can't speak for the other teams in the west but the royals do not get any money from the canteen sales.
Eye? What does Joe have to do with money being spent on the West Coast? Can Joe influence the boys on where they want to play? Can Joe force teams on the East Coast to start spending money to keep the boys in here? For the first time in a while, it's possible that the CeeBees may not have as a competitive team as they are used to, and all of a sudden you have to point the finger somewhere. Why not use Joe? I didn't see you running for any executive positions this year? Why is that? Maybe its your fault all the players are leaving........

Well it is The Eye again, It's like this Joe can Change the rules he can put the same rules in the East as in the West and things will be O, K . players want money and if the west keeps offering money to the east players what do you think the east will be like we won't have enought Senior "A" players to hall up a punt... just think about it when its time to play for the herder what will happen..... we will get ran over...The East will never win another Herder with the Rules we have now........

Very funny that none of these issues came to light until the CeeBees lost for the first time in a few years and are losing their core. There was no talk of joining leagues, or one being any better than the other the last few years, now they've lost and boom, bring on the cheese for all the whine. Sad that they may lose players, but don't roll over and die because of it. Do more fundraising, the Cats did and look what the outcome is.
GET AT ME WOLF
Dynamo says that simonsays is out to lunch.................What does this have to do with the Ceebees losing the Herder????............First or all nobody is gone anywhere from the ceebees line up just yet..........If they do the ceebees will ice a competitive team.....There is much local talent in the CBN area to ice a competitive team.........If any team on the island lost five of their core players what do you think their fans would do?..................Whine and complain maybe?.............nah.......that would only be ceebee's fans that would do that.................simonsays wrote:Very funny that none of these issues came to light until the CeeBees lost for the first time in a few years and are losing their core. GO CEE BEES GO
Like I said when you posted this same comment in the west forum there has been plenty of talk about joining leagues but the AEHL executive won't entertain it. Also the CeeBees don't need to do more fundraising as there revenues have been great, in fact they have carried the league. the problem is the league gets all the money, the gate receipts as well as the Herder gate. Another thing you don't appear to know is that league rules don't allow paid players or paid imports in the AESHL. If they did then the west league would have few players from the east.simonsays wrote:Very funny that none of these issues came to light until the CeeBees lost for the first time in a few years and are losing their core.
