Corner Brook "Fans"
Not too long home from the game tonight and I have to say, probably the best game I've seen this year. Congrats to the bous on the hard fought victory but also congrats to the royals on a very well played, and worked game. I was however, very disappointed in the turnout tonight. I believe it was tossed around that there were approximately 500 paid fans in the building tonight. This quite simply isn't good enough! Sure the team has had some struggles throughout the year but that's no reason for the fans to stop coming. Look at the maple leafs for example. They loose... a lot, but nearly every game there is a packed house. However the fans here in corner brook as soon as you loose a game, stop coming. Trust me, there's not that much to do here on a friday or a saturday night so I really don't understand why no one comes. Tonight the 500 people that were there watched the best game to be played at the pepsi centre this year and probably the best the royals have played and you know what ? That's the 500 people that will be there no matter what. I think it's time for people to put this "you have to win" mentality behind them, stop complaining about beer prices, players, etc. Espically if your not going to show up and support your team! It's certainly not fair that the organizers, players, and volunteers all come out and give it their all to have a rink that could sit 4000 people with 500 there to watch and support them. To the 500 people that were at the game tonight I commend you for sticking it out through the rough patches and congradulate you on getting to see the royals come together as a team for the other people of corner brook, it's time to start supporting your team.

There are alot of reasons for the 500 people, there are alot of x-mas parties on the go, there was a play at the arts n culture that was packed, and there is a leafs vs habs game on cbc. Not to mention the performance of the team, you really don't know what your going to get. I could not go this weekend but the last game I went too it was $14 to get in, then I had 4 beer during the game that were either 4.50 or 4.75 a beer. So that was $32 to watch the royals team mope around the ice and lose. It was not worth the $32 that I can assure you. I will go back to watch games but I will tell you this, everywhere I go around town all you hear is people complainging about paying $14 to see the royals lose, now you migth think that is right or wrong, personally I can't blame them.

Thats wherein the problem lies, the "fans" can't support a loosing team... it's quite sickening. You're either a fan or not... none of this "their loosing so screw em" mentality, thats why CB could never handle a Q franchise
This weekend they played with heart. The best 2 games i seen all year. I go win or lose but was quite pleased with their effort this weekend. They tried. I don't mind them losing when they give it there all. Let's hope more fans turn out next Sat for the game against the wings.Mysterious Unicorn wrote:There are alot of reasons for the 500 people, there are alot of x-mas parties on the go, there was a play at the arts n culture that was packed, and there is a leafs vs habs game on cbc. It's just too damn expensive for this time of year. If I want to take my family its a $60 or $70 night. Not worth it. Sorry......Maybe a buy a ticket get one half price deal might work....but for me and my family...it's out of our price range. Not the fans fault that they have to pay outrageous ticket prices to see a medicore team that has been in the cellar for that past few years. Maybe the management can talk to Sir Wilfred Grenfell about lowering the ice rental fee....
until then...we won't attend anymore games. We even gave up our 4 holding seats this year as the price seems to keep going up every year.
I know it is a bad time of the year but kids get in free at the pepsi center but they have to pay to get in the other stadiums. Two tickets 28 bucks. Up 4 bucks from last year. I honestly think if the royals start winning the fans will come back after Xmas. I do not mean to put you down because my kids are all grown up.Mack wrote:tony wrote:Not too long home from the game tonight and I have to say, probably the best game I've seen this year. No donuts without the hole. lol.NHLfan wrote:You can't compare the Leafs attendance, alot of which are corporate seats, to the Royals.

Your rationalle is stupid, why would you waste your money watching a team not try and float around the ice? Do you know how stupid that is? Your better off putting it in the slot machines

The league is mostly responsible for the high priced tickets because of the amount of money paid out to your players. The money's got to come from somewhere, a bake sale cant handle it. Now it's starting to spread to the AESHL, this will soon cause a lot of trouble for both leagues. But then again who care about the future as long as we win this year.
