Grand Falls maybe the odd team out here. The AESHL could easily take Clarenville into the league and let them play their home games either early Saturday night with warm up at 6:15 and puck drop at 7:00 pm or Sunday afternoon, teams could travel back and forth to Harbour Grace, Mount Pearl etc without incurring hotel and meal costs. That would give you four competitive teams and really question the future of Bell Island. Torbay wouldn't need to add many players to compete night in and night out.

If something like this were to happen there would be loads of players available and no need for imports, cost would also go down for teams, old supply and demand situation.

Your name says it all there "Eastcoaster". Maybe some fans out that way would be happy with a "local" league but it sure wouldn't represent PROVINCIAL senior hockey. Thankfully the real decision makers understand that rather important point. While you might be OK with the scenario you laid out I absolutely guarantee you that it will NEVER happen. And don't be so quick to rule out the return of the other West Coast teams.

Maybe if we had our town pumping all kinds of $ into the team like the cats do we wouldn't have to worry about our fundraisers.
