After the first weekend of play, the Privateers lead the way at 3-0 after sweeping the Tri-Pen Lions, while the St. John's Maple Leafs managed to salvage their series with the Western Kings by winning games two and three after being shutout in game one, 2-0.

The league will take a one week hiatus as the Atlantic Challenge Cup is being played this weekend, and action will resume the following weekend with the Privateers visiting the Leafs at the Capital Hyundai Arena and the Central IcePak making their season debut, as they play host to the Lions in Lewisporte.
